Israeli leaders to debate “final” Gaza push

JERUSALEM, Jan 7 (Reuters) – Israeli leaders will debate on Wednesday whether to
order their armed forces to storm into the Gaza Strip’s urban centres, the
planned culmination of a nearly two-week-old offensive, political sources said.
Escalating from a week-long air assault, Israeli troops and tanks invaded the
Hamas-ruled territory on Saturday, clashing with Palestinian guerrillas but not
advancing beyond the outskirts of the city of Gaza or other densely populated
areas.
Israel called the initial ground sweep the “second stage” of the operation,
without saying what could follow. The opacity helped spur a frenzy of
international mediation to secure a truce under which Hamas would stop
cross-border rocket fire.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s security cabinet, due to convene on Wednesday,
would discuss the third — and final — stage of the offensive, two senior
political sources said, though the ministers may defer a vote on approving the
plan.
“The plan is to enter the urban centres,” said one source, declining to be
named.
Postponing a final decision on the plan could allow Israel to keep its forces in
readiness while maintaining leeway for any breakthrough in possible truce talks
led by Egypt.

Every Israeli killed in this fight is equal to 200 Palestinians. Israel doesn’t
have an endless supply of fighters in her defense and the world is against her
as always. At least that is the popular opinion. Israel should EXTERMINATE the
threat, yes I said EXTERMINATE. That is what you do to pests, irritants and
scum.

Israel could go into Gaza and win the close quarter fighting if need be but I
ask WHY?

“Hamas spokesman Abu Ubaida said in a speech on Monday: “We have prepared for
you, Zionists, thousands of tough fighters who are waiting for you in every
street, every alley and at every house, and they will meet you with iron and
fire.”

That is the only intel Israel needs. Level everything then they cant hide, except for tunnels and Israel knows where they are.

This is the PCness of warfare that makes it possible for a superior fighting
force to be beaten by thugs and criminals. If you are going to fight, damn it
fight to win. There should be NO place or very few places Israelis’ forces
should come under fire from Hamas thugs. Every place that use to be an “Alley”
should be a pile of rubble. Every street that could harbor a Hamas idiot should
be targeted from above. WHY risk your fighting force because thugs with POPULAR
support in enemy territory are hiding among the population?

The Palestinian people elected a group of terrorists to lead them and they have
agreed with the Hamas charter that Israel should be eliminated. Hamas targets
ALL Jews because “All Jews serve in the military sooner or later” That means ALL
Palestinians serve as “Martyrs” for the destruction of Israel, and that makes
targets out of ALL of them.

Ehud Olmert and the Israeli Government should NOT in any way allow a cease fire
or truce until the objective is met. The objective is simple; NO MORE ROCKETS
fired from GAZA. PERIOD!
Israel has made it clear it doesn’t want to occupy Gaza, it is not out for
regime change, it is not trying to topple anything. ALL ISRAEL  WANTS IS NO MORE
ROCKETS FIRED INTO ITS TERRITORY!

There should be NO negotiations other than Hamas saying “OK we will not fire any
more rockets at Israel” ANYTHING in addition to that is giving Hamas a victory.
Any lifting or allowing ANYTHING by Israel to Hamas will be taken as a victory
by Hamas, and tell the world that the only way to get anything is to kill
Israelis. All that will lead to is another conflict in the near future for
whatever else Hamas wants.

I support the EXTERMINATION of ALL Terrorists in Gaza and around the world by
whatever means necessary, HAMAS is a terrorist entity and they need to be dealt
with RIGHT NOW. Israel is in the right position to do just that.

IF Israel has any of balls that it once had, they would say NO TRUCE until Hamas
agrees UNCONDITIONALLY to not allow any more rocket fire toward Israel, and
agree to international monitors NOT from Islamic nations. Other than that we
will continue to EXTERMINATE the SCUM of the earth without pity on the human
shields Hamas uses. Blame Hamas for putting them in harms way.

Israel DON’T screw this up.

  1. Amen I said this last night. There is no “peace” there is no “truce”. If Israel ONCE MORE capitulates to the PC demands of the UN and the US etc etc.. all will be lost. Might as well kiss ’em goodbye.

  2. It’s called “asymmetrical warfare” and asymmetrical warfare is incredibly difficult by itself, also. The “weaker” party wants the “stronger” party to maximize casualties. Israel actually wants to minimize casualties whilst Hamas wants to maximize, specifically, CIVILIAN non-Hamas casualties. If the goal of Hamas was to actually care for and keep Palestinians alive they would cease firing rockets and mortars and, more pointedly, rockets and mortars from inside UN schools, civilian buildings, apartments, businesses. But in truth, what many ignorant people fail to consider is that to Hamas many Palestinians are simply expendable and, as such, to be used as rags or Kleenex. Enirely disposable. Plus, of course, if Israel’s response really WAS “disproportionate” then Hamas would NOT be able to continue sending rockets and mortars into Israel proper.

    “Bring us our next human dupe,” Hamas calls. And the Palestinians respond willingly.

  3. Might be a good time and place to just starve the bastards out by surrounding the place and not letting anyone in or out. Or go with my favorite, fire bomb (We could give the Israelis some MOAB’s) it all and shoot any of the rats who attempt to escape.

Angel If I was I’d get a lot of folks killed… I have a saying around here as we hunt for the Gangbangers, “I might not have got THE ONE I was looking for, but I got ONE that will do for now” Meaning I couldn’t give a rats ass less if a few folks are in the wrong place at the wrong time, IF they are stupid enough to be there, it’s called culling the herd.

  5. Basti, That’s a thought too, starvation..but it takes too damn long in my opinion.
    I do like the carpet bombing idea though…From coast to plain and then see what the weather looks like in the north. Lebanon could use some steel rain too.
