UC Davis PD vs OWS.. Who ya got?

This is the feel good picture of the day..

The video this was taken from has gone viral, it’s got everything in it. Whining, screaming, victimhood, racism (Only white folks there) police action, hippies and chanting…BUT, the video that has everyone all turned sideways leaves out some vital information…Shocked are you? Yeah not me either.

Fast forward to around 4 min. if you don’t really care to hear the “F-the Police” chants..

Now (This little quote I found at Flopping Aces)

Charles J. Kelly, a former Baltimore Police Department lieutenant who wrote the department’s use of force guidelines, said pepper spray is a “compliance tool” that can be used on subjects who do not resist, and is preferable to simply lifting protesters.

“When you start picking up human bodies, you risk hurting them,” Kelly said. “Bodies don’t have handles on them.”

After reviewing the video, Kelly said he observed at least two cases of “active resistance” from protesters. In one instance, a woman pulls her arm back from an officer. In the second instance, a protester curls into a ball. Each of those actions could have warranted more force, including baton strikes and pressure-point techniques.

“What I’m looking at is fairly standard police procedure,” Kelly said.

So with this new information will you or won’t you agree that the UC Davis PD acted appropriately? I’m sure 99% of the readers here will agree, and 98.5% of those will say if the cops used their batons, flashlights and boots it would have made for a better video… I’m the 98.5%

Hippie idiots deserved the pepper spray, spoiled little rich pricks trying to claim “Victimhood” the morons on the “Quad” have never had it tough. You want tough? Put their ass in Iraq, Darfur, Hell, put them in Mexico and see how tough it is without daddy’s dough… Some folks just need killin I reckon.

  1. So with this new information will you or won’t you agree that the UC Davis PD acted appropriately?

NO! Where are the water cannons and dogs?

A least put some kind of dye in the water cannons so we can find them later.

  2. I know I hate people that can read and write and think on their own. I bet you wish you could drape yourself in old glory and take America back. Although without any education I’m sure you’ll just try and start intimidating people with violence…wait are you a university cop in California? Post my comment unless you don’t have any testicular fortitude.

    1. Joe, that’s huckin filarious… You are an educated person? Sooo, sitting in a “Quad” daddy paid for, disobeying orders to disperse and chanting “Fuck the police” makes you a “Revolutionary”? an “Educated” elite?… Ask yourself MORON, who is more aware of reality than you so-called 99%? us the real 53% who work, pay taxes, participate in the self government model our founders envisioned. Or you unwashed communists/marxists/socialists in tents on places you don’t belong. Get a fuckin clue….

Oh and if you want to question my “NUTS” feel free to come to Riverside CA and protest in my AO. I’ll be easy to spot. It will be my boot on your fuckin throat.

  3. I’m glad someone is writing about the truth behind this situation. However, I have found evidence that you might be interested in. I will provide links to the youtube videos in question at the end of this letter.

It goes above and beyond what you wrote here. It took quite a few hours of piecing together disjointed clips and read eye witness reports to come up with what happened. I’ll explain.

The first clip shows the officers arriving on scene to remove the tents. During this attempt, students attempted to stand in the way of police to prevent them from removing the tents. In this clip, at 0:14-0:16, you can see a student who attempts to shove an officer and is taken down. He is arrested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzGyK64NWaI

What follows this is truly disturbing. The students surround the police, lock arms and sit down. They start chanting phrases like “Like them go now” and (most disturbing) “We’ll let you leave when you let them go”. You see, the crowd was attempting to prevent the officers from leaving with the students they arrested. You can see this circle in the next clip.

In addition to what you mentioned about the officers talking to the leader of the group, in this clip you can see the officer going up to several of the students individually and saying “If you do not leave, you will be subject to force, do you understand”. The officer recieved two types of answers to this. Either the student completely ignore the officer, or the student nodding and saying yes. Here is the clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGagKL_tvS8

So it goes beyond an debatably illegal protest. The total scenario goes like this. Student shoves officer trying to remove tent. Police arrest student. As an organized group, the protesters surround the police and attempt to coerce them into releasing the students while physically blockading them from leaving with the prisoner. Only after repeated warning, did the officer use the least brutal means at their disposal: virtually harmless pepper spray.

I hope you find this puzzle and accompanying video clips as disturbing as I did.

    1. Scott, thanks for the links and yep disturbing but not unexpected. As I’ve stated several times: The difference between Right and Left is glaringly obvious. The RIGHT does everything humanly possible to NOT be a victim. The LEFT COUNTS ON IT. The left counts on being perceived a victim to further a warped agenda. Think Palestinians, Think every ISLAMIC tactic used since the 60’s. Think every protest in the 60’s… Then flash forward to the mobilization of the tea party. The left had no idea how to deal with it. They’d never seen a protest where people didn’t infringe on others rights, or break laws, or leave a mess or get arrested or pepper sprayed…

Now the American people have a choice. They can be with the OWS, or be with the tea party. I think we’re in good shape come election time.
