Some thoughts on our nations issues

Has anyone stopped and thought about how screwed up our nation is right now? I mean this years politics aside, we have got some issues that need fixing.

How about this:
Right now in California we are having to STOP buses carrying kids to school because of the lack of funds in the state coffers. BUT, the Prisons are fully funded and operating normally?

Here’s another one on prisons:

THE ACLU sued the Department of Corrections in Texas because of the use of building tenders. (Inmates that helped control the inmates) in the early 90’s. The ACLU won, and building tenders were removed. That ruling allowed Gangs to control the Texas prison system rather than the guards, that ruling gave the Prison gangs the ability to recruit, intimidate and murder,  And it took away a valuable tool the guards needed to prevent it. For Example; The Texas Syndicate, was able to recruit members and expand the gang. Ask a Texan in Austin about TS And the Mexican Mafia. Both of which cost lives, money and property. Money has to be funneled to the area of the greatest need and when people are dying on the street, it becomes a GREAT NEED. Where does that money come from? THE BUDGET!

In CA similar lawsuits have taken place in order to make the prisoners stay more comfortable. So now, we have to pay additional police and additional guards in prisons, because of the gangs running gangs in and out of prisons. We have to funnel money to pay for healthcare of the prisoners yet our working class has no healthcare? Again BUDGET CASH.

There is no one looking at the unintended consequences of legislation, and it is costing us BIG.

Just thinking out loud I guess…

  1. Bro, when people like us think out loud it’s a bit scary for those of lesser intelligence, especially those that believe themselves to be superior…

  2. No. No one thinks of consequences on down the line of various forms of legislation or mandate. Perfect ridiculous example: the 1.5 gallon flush toilet. US toilets used to be 3-gallon flush. To “save water” manufacturers had to cut the amount of water used. With the new units, it occasionally requires two turns of the lever to handle the same amount of effluvium. Hence, no water saved, still 3+ gallons utilized. Next? Back to the one-square of TP per wipe mandate. TP rolls will have time locks on them.

  3. Don’t think your all alone.. They have *modified* the school bus system here for the same reason. They have actually changed some school hours to fit in the window of running the buses to save money on gas. Dallas Independent School District thought it would be a good idea to cut the after school programs to save money as well. My daughters principal was not real thrilled when I showed up in her office to find out who I needed to call and write to let them know how f**ked up it was.

When I got the school district on the phone, I was told you the parents will just have to accept the fact that the school district is not your babysitter and you will actually have to take care of your own child. Her name was quickly asked for, and I promptly showed up at the main office the next day. Needless to say her boss was none to thrilled to hear what she had to say. Never the less the outcome is the same. No after school program! Hey DISD :finger:

  4. @Ick: Well Ick the DISD is partly right, they are not the babysitters, BUT they do have an obligation to follow through with promises made, if they can’t oblige for some reason they need to provide alternate forms and plenty of advance notice.

I wonder how the prisoners in Texas are fairing? I hope they are comfy and have adequate care…Sarcasm.

  5. lol, and to think many years back when Clinton was in charge, while screwing things up he still opposed my country’s caning of VANDAL Michael Fay (not sure if you guys remember), it was a laugh seeing the dems trip over each other to talk about “inhumane” treatment when they don’t mind giving so much money to people who have not treated honest citizens fairly.

I was not really into it back then, I was too young, but looking back…

To the libtards who cried about that… :finger:

  6. Her after school program was for not only social interaction with other kids, but also tutoring and various other activities. :smiling:
