Separation of Church and State?

Well, I’m not an overly religious guy, I believe in GOD, I pray on occasion and I believe EVERYONE has the right to worship or not worship in their own way. Lately though, I think religion has been under fire from the liberal/progressive douchenozzles. And it’s not ALL religions that are under fire, it’s basically the CHRISTIAN religion. You don’t hear liberals/progressives talking or writing bad things about Islam though, wonder why?

This video found at Chicks on the Right is a pretty good history lesson. Give it a look:

So with all that knowledge, do you feel any different about what’s been happening in our nation? To me it says, the minority have dictated our path away from the golden rule, they have succeeded in removing the most basic concepts of goodness (Along with the bad parts) from our every day lives. This is a true case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I’m sure there were some really bad parts of all that religion going on in our capital, and instead of removing the bad parts,  from our culture we have destroyed the entire belief system and moved away from GOD.

Time to move that dial again, we have a fight. We have an opportunity to regain our culture, and we damn well better do something quick or else we will have nothing to get back too.

  1. David Barton should be taken with a grain of salt. As revealed by Chris Rodda’s meticulous analysis, zealotry more than fact shapes his work, which is riddled with shoddy scholarship and downright dishonesty. See Chris Rodda, Liars for Jesus: The Religious Right’s Alternate Version of American History (2006) and http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-rodda/glenn-becks-new-bff—-da_b_458515.html She presents Barton’s claims, reviews the evidence and explanations he offers, and then shines a bright light on the evidence omitted, misinterpreted, or even made up by Barton with documentation and references so complete one can readily assess the facts for one’s self without the need to take either Barton’s or Rodda’s word for it.

His opening bit in the video, for instance, is a lie. Contrary to Barton’s assertions, Congress did not order any Bibles imported or printed; it merely helped a Colonial printer by passing a resolution stating that, based on its chaplain’s report, it was satisfied that his edition was accurately printed. See C. Rodda, Liars for Jesus, Chapter One, Congress and the Bible. Really, check out the facts, and see Barton for what he is.

    1. Well Doug, I’m sure no matter what the topic there is an “Expert” to be found that contradicts the popular version. I also realize that lately the “Revised” history is not necessarily the TRUTH. Revision of history is a good tactic, but just because someone pens an article claiming a different version don’t make that the truth…Facts are the only thing I’m concerned with and that video matches up with a lot more than it gets wrong. Good try though.

  2. If it is historical fact and truth you truly seek, I invite, urge, dare you to check out Rodda’s meticulous analysis of Barton’s “work.” I suspect you’ll be amazed–and disappointed–at the level of deceit she reveals. We’re not talking about an “expert” genuinely offering a different interpretation of facts–huckster hawking snake oil is closer to the mark.
