Man accused of stalking woman before killing her in Oak Brook

A 20-year-old Canadian man methodically stalked and tracked a Westmont woman before killing her Wednesday night in Oak Brook — even stopping to reload his gun and continue shooting during the attack.

DuPage County Judge Michael Wolfe denied bail Thursday for Dmitry Smirnov of Surrey, British Columbia, who is charged with the first-degree murder of Jitka Vesel, 36.

Best part of the story:

Berlin said Smirnov had done research on the Internet to determine if Illinois had the death penalty, deciding to go through with Vesel’s murder when he discovered it does not.

So let’s recap boys and girls. “The Death Penalty does not deter Criminals”… As the bleeding heart liberals have always told us. But I guess the Lack of the Death Penalty DOES help… Just sayin.

And I’m betting there are entire wings of most prisons that are full of “Lifers” that will tell you the lack of a death penalty in a particular state made them extremely happy…And much more likely to go all the way with a murder. They get 3 hots, a cot and all the sex they want…(Or don’t want)

Personally, I wish they’d fire up old sparky for cowards like this. They are nothing more than parasites to our society. Once they have been found guilty, walk their sorry ass back to the chair and flip the switch. Put it on extra crispy and take care of the cremation at the same time. Efficiency saves money.

I’ve argued for many years the need to reinstate the Death Penalty. Not just “Have it” but use the damn thing. Pick a way to do it and get it done. Give them 3 appeals, if there’s a shadow of a doubt, then stay the execution date. IF DNA or a confession is present, don’t waste time, money and effort fry the bastard. Oh I know, my favorite liberal trolls and coward email senders will rail against this idea…To that I say, tell it to this lady’s family, who would still be alive if Illinois had the death Penalty.

Then again, the same folks that are against the Death Penalty are FOR Abortion..

Every idea or policy should come up for review at some point. There should be investigations and questions regarding it’s successes and failures. The death penalty is one that has not been reviewed to the fullest extent. The problem is we have states that use it more often than others, and others that don’t have it at all. We have states that have the punishment, but haven’t used it in 25 years. We have Death Row FULL in several states and are having to build NEW areas to house them. What needs to happen now that we have all this data that says the DEATH PENALTY being used sparingly, or not at all does NOTHING to reduce murders, Let’s go the other way with it. Let’s try MY solution for a couple years and see if it helps. I’ll be happy to offer my services to pull the switch and clean up ashes, volunteer of course, Holler!
