Florida “Stand Your Ground” law under Attack.
I have stayed away from this story for a little while until the facts are out.
Gotta love the picture… Smiling victim good kid, scowling murderer of innocent black kids world wide, right next to him. Fair trial indeed…
‘Stand Your Ground Law’ at center of unarmed Florida teen shooting
MIAMI – Florida is among 21 U.S. states with a “Stand Your Ground Law,” which gives people wide latitude to use deadly force rather than retreat during a fight. The self-defense law helps explain why a neighborhood watch captain has not been arrested in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager — a case that has caused widespread outrage.
First off, lets take a look at the media’s responsibility in this entire issue. They reported the shooter as a “WHITE Neighborhood watch captain” who shot an innocent black kid just going to the store… Now the story is Mr Zimmerman is of hispanic descent.
The race baiters are out in force for a perceived injustice because no arrest had been made right away. Well, lets see. IF it were a black shooter who shot a black kid would they be so quick to jump on the “Injustice” cry? They’d be waiting for the facts to come out I believe.
Do we know how many times this kid has used that way to go to the store in the past? Has that area been hit by crime recently? Was this Zimmerman a victim of that crime? Is there a chance this kid was casing? Just because his cell phone conversation with a girl didn’t mention he was casing or doing anything illegal means NOTHING. Very few folks during a crime would announce that’s what they were doing to their loved ones.
Now I’m not about to claim Zimmerman was innocent. He by all accounts didn’t follow standard neighborhood watch procedures. And he will face the judge and jury over it I’m sure. But my issue is with the “Stand your ground” law.
Zimmerman instigated the confrontation by all accounts. I don’t think this incident is encompassed by the stand your ground law so why is it even in play? The stand your ground law is for the stalked not the stalkee. Zimmerman should have made sure the kid was white so he had a chance at a fair trail. Now it’s over for him and if we allow this to drag a good law into the dirt it’s on us.
It won’t be long that the “Castle Doctrine” will come under fire for this incident. Even though it doesn’t apply either. We can defend those laws without defending the shooter in this case. And we damn sure better.

I’m just reading about it, and have questions.
Was the deceased a resident within this ‘gated’ community?
If not, what was he doing in there?
Did the shooter have any assault cuts and bruises, that would cause him to fire his weapon.
A ‘Hispanic’ armed guard in a gated community, with the Jewish name of Zimmerman,,, makes my ears perk up.
I am trying to find the reason this guard pulled his weapon, and discharged it,, in the line of his duty.
I do not have an answer yet.
I am sure there will be more details coming forth, that we presently don’t have.

The whole event is very sad. It appears Mr. Zimmerman used very poor judgement to begin with. But… no one has all the facts yet including the media, yet they report the event as a foregone conclusion that Zimmerman murdered the victim. How on earth can he get a fair trial? Now I just heard on TV that Obama has stuck his nose into this mess. Not only do we have the usual cast of attention loving black “activists” garnering for attention and demanding Zimmerman’s head but the President just cannot stay out of it. We probably will never know exactly what happened but one thing is for sure, Zimmerman cannot ever get a fair trial now and this kid will never get real justice, he may get a lynching but not justice, if indeed any is due.
This should be a lesson to all, shooting, stabbing clubbing, beating up anyone is very serious and one had better be very, very sure and very, very scared before ever defending ones self and do not ever go looking for trouble, you may just find it.
Mr. Zimmerman, I pray you are innocent and can prove; if you can’t you just screwed things up for the rest of we innocent folks in the event we have to defend ourselves from a”minority” assailant.

Zimmerman is HALF Chilean so the news reports say.. Is Chilean designated as Hispanic?
The shooter got his ass beat, after he chased the kid, and as far as I can ascertain, the kid was standing HIS ground, sans a gun…
This asshole Zimmerman is NOT a *guard*, he was the self-appointed Neighborhood Watch Captain and self proclaimed security specialist…

Yeah I don’t disagree that it appears he’s an overzealous dude with a hero complex. And Yep he very well may have been a racist. BUT and these are my issues, there was a rush to paint this as a white racist murdering a poor innocent little black kid. Not exactly true as of now. The media drives the story, the POTUS weighs in again without facts. The media is NEVER wrong right?
Details are coming out slowly but the damage has been done. I don’t think his father lived in that gated community… And even if he did, there had been a rash of burglaries. IF so, I totally understand the guy trying to protect his hood.
Facts are going to come out. And I’m not sure they will matter much.
Another thing is the “Stand your ground law” doesn’t apply here, this is about 2 people. One trying to protect his neighborhood, the other wanting skittles. The paths crossed and bad things happen in the middle of the night.
One more thing to consider.
You are involved in your community, you are a member of your neighborhood watch. You have gone to meetings, participated in several outreaches to get others to join. You have a good relationship with LEO’s in the area. You are out walking your dog, you notice a suspicious person walking in your hood. You call the cops. You follow the guy while on the phone. While you are on the phone the guy turns and starts walking at you. You announce yourself and that you are on the phone to the guy. What have you effectively done? YOUR JOB. You announced, you called that’s it. You don’t need to do anything else. Zimmerman went that one step too far.
Personally, I can relate to Zimmerman. I can understand his desire to fix what is broke. I can understand wanting to put the SOB responsible for the hoods breakins in a choke old till his eyes pop out. But the first rule of thumb is to make sure you got the right guy…
Lets take a look at possible here: What if the independent investigators find that Treyvon Martin WAS in fact the break in culprit? It won’t matter now because he’s a victim.
This entire debacle is bad for everyone but Democrats and Black “VICTIMS” everyone else is a loser here.
