California debating Death Penalty

California debating Death Penalty

Here we go again… My question is why have it if you can’t/WON’T use it?

California Debates Whether to Abolish Nation’s Most Populous Death Row

Opponents of California’s death penalty are working on a bill to abolish capital punishment in the state, which if signed into law and approved by voters next year could help California save millions of dollars by taking hundreds of prisoners off Death Row.

The bill from state Democratic Sen. Loni Hancock of Berkeley would amend state law to require life in prison without parole for those convicted of what are now capital crimes, including people currently facing execution. If passed by the Legislature, the question would be put before voters on the November 2012 ballot.

The push comes as California continues to grapple with multi-billion dollar budget deficits that has led to deep spending cuts, a lower credit rating and the prospect of higher taxes.

Only 13 inmates have been executed since the death penalty was restored in the Golden State in 1978, but supporters of the death penalty say commuting the sentence of 714 condemned inmates to life in prison without parole would be a travesty of justice.

They argue that rather than abolish it, fix the capital punishment system so condemned prisoners don’t spend as much time on death row and cost taxpayers as much money.

I want you to look at these images… This is California’s version of the death Penalty.

Rather humane huh? Personally I think we could save the state MILLIONS by actually using the Death Penalty. And using it often. Sell all of this humane crap and get back to old sparky. OR better yet..

I will be happy to build the gallows. I’d even foot the bill for the ropes and wood. Matter of fact, I’ll volunteer to pull the lever. I’d be happy to do it on a volunteer basis. Just allow me to work as fast as I can and provide me an assistant to drive the dump truck that will be positioned under the platform.

Companies FLEEING California

Companies FLEEING California

Staying on the economic topic for a while since the United States Government is following the California model of success. 😯

California companies fleeing the Golden State

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Buffeted by high taxes, strict regulations and uncertain state budgets, a growing number of California companies are seeking friendlier business environments outside of the Golden State.

And governors around the country, smelling blood in the water, have stepped up their courtship of California companies. Officials in states like Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah are telling California firms how business-friendly they are in comparison.

Companies are “disinvesting” in California at a rate five times greater than just two years ago, said Joseph Vranich, a business relocation expert based in Irvine. This includes leaving altogether, establishing divisions elsewhere or opting not to set up shop in California.

“There is a feeling that the state is not stable,” Vranich said. “Sacramento can’t get its act together…and that includes the governor, legislators and regulatory agencies that are running wild.”

The article doesn’t say that one of the biggest problems is the population. The remaining population is unqualified to work in a successful company. There are plenty of fast food, cashiers, sales folks, and yard workers. But there are very few industrial experienced people. Not to mention there are very few that are worth taking a chance on. The “Diversity” experiment has failed miserably. WHY?

The fact is we didn’t expect those that come here to become AMERICANS. We allowed them to continue and enforce their own country’s failures on us. California is an example of liberal leadership.

I stated in 2006 when Pelosi took over the speaker gavel that the nation will now experience California leadership… Was I right?

The last part in the article Gavin Newsome (Lt GOV, former SF mayor.. You may remember his “So goes the nation” statement on gay marriage) Says:

“Later this year, California will set up a new agency that will serve as a focal point for economic development and job creation, he said. Among its goals will be to reverse the perception that California is business-unfriendly.

“We’re going to start pounding away at this and begin to slowly turn this around,” he said”

Which is part of the problem. Obama set up agencies, commissions and panels to fix the economy. IF you don’t follow the advice, your pissing into the wind. I expect the agency Newsome sets up to be about as useful as tits on a bull.

Hang in there Texas, you’re our only hope. Demand that people when coming to Texas become TEXANS. Don’t allow them to bring their dumbassery to Texas and infest a good thing…

Voters in CA Lose Everytime…

Voters in CA Lose Everytime…

Well, unless it’s a liberal agenda item. Taxes will be raised because “It’s for the children”… Sales tax, Auto tax, State income tax, environment tax, save our wales tax, help the horn frog tax…. the list goes on. And on every item you buy the California tax is rising. Now the next step for California will be to TAX internet sales. It’s coming.

But the real reason for this post is not economic idiocy (That should be apparent by now, the country is following California’s successful model of growth 🙄 ) it’s about VOTERS in CA. We have experienced several propositions that were accepted by the voters and struck down by judges with an agenda. The biggest one in the history of this state was Prop 187.

I’d like to take a look back to 1994 when prop 187 passed by a 58.9 to 40.0 percentage margin. And was overturned in the courts… Let’s look at what 187 would have done for this state and where we would have been had the WILL OF THE VOTERS BEEN ACCEPTED!

In 1990 there were an estimated 1.5 MILLION Illegals in CA. In 2009 it’s more than doubled. (source) As of now Illegal Immigration costs the state of CA over 10 BILLION dollars annually. So just a little math would tell you that had WE STOPPED this in 1994, the costs would have been less than HALF. Our schools would have been far better and less crowded, our prisons far less full and our hospitals less swamped… So the voters lost the battle due to activists in robes. Do those that supported the overturning of this proposition see their hand in our demise? Of course not it’s the rich… 🙁

Here we go again with Prop 8. The voters passed it by a very wide margin and it got overturned by an activist judge. It’s under review but I’m betting on gay marriage being “Legal” here despite the voters will. What will the damage be from this? Who knows, but I’m betting it’s going to cost us big time in the law suits, the schools losing students because GOOD PARENTS will not allow their kids to be indoctrinated in liberalism. Which in a state that gets paid for butts in seats in schools will shrink revenue. We’ll also see law suits over Preachers/Pastors/Priests NOT performing marriage ceremonies for gay folks. It’s going to happen.

Message to California: FREE THEM ALL!!!!

Message to California: FREE THEM ALL!!!!

Come on California lets get it done. Lets pull the band aid off quickly it will hurt a lot less.

California ‘High Risk’ Prisoners Wrongly Released Due to Computer Errors

SACRAMENTO –  Computer errors resulted in some 450 inmates with “a high risk for violence” being wrongly released from California prisons, the Los Angeles Times reported in its Thursday edition.

On top of the 450, more than 1,000 prisoners, deemed to be at high risk of committing drug and property crimes, were also released into the community.

All the offenders were placed on “non-revocable parole” — a program that does not require them to report to parole officers. The program, which started in January 2010, was intended for inmates considered to be at low risk of reoffending.

Reviewing 200 case files of the 10,134 former inmates on non-revocable parole last July, investigators uncovered that 31 were not eligible for the program, while nine of the 31 were deemed likely to commit a violent crime.

Let’s just open the doors to all of California prisons. While we’re at it, lets raise taxes some more to pay for the medical expenses of the population that will be victimized by these felons. And Don’t stop there guys, lets also add some more EPA regulations and taxes to businesses so they will move out of the state. And raise taxes again to give teachers a raise. C’mon California you can do it. Set the benchmark for the nation… I’m with ya…Oh wait, I forgot one, don’t forget to ban guns in the state. Wouldn’t want the population of California defending themselves. C’mon Moonbeam lets get the party started!

I’m hoping California gets the progressive dream while I’m steal here to enjoy it. I really can’t wait. Seriously. I’m extremely well armed and I’m more than willing to break the law around here to maintain my safety. I’m ready for the disaster. We’ve been preparing for a long time. Lets get it on. Come on already. We’re headed that way lets party folks…

How much money will it save if we just opened the doors to our prisons? Well the Prison guard union is paid a LOT of cash… No need for them, so that cash can be put right into the teachers union right? That should buy some job security for them… Although the “Security” question may require additional funds. Since there’s no prisons, there’s no need for Police right? Hell this is just a win win for everyone….But we’re still going to need schools, so maybe “Crime school” or “gangbanging 101” will replace our K-12 school system…

I’m pushing for every damn progressive law to be passed post haste. C’mon guys get with the program. Folks in AZ may want to consider a fence on the border with California though. Keep the idiocy on this side of the border guys.

TAX the RICH!!! Um Wait, really?

TAX the RICH!!! Um Wait, really?

Again the cries of progressives from coast to coast is “Tax the Rich” especially here in California. I decided to look a little bit and check a few things to make sure I got the facts straight and I was dead on accurate with my earlier assumptions. The rich are not the enemy. The Rich are not the problem, nor are they the solution.

As far as Jerry Brown (Moonbeam Governor of Cali) is concerned, a “Rich person” is people making over 500k a year. The plan for California is to tax them more to pay for services in the state, which means Education. Right now 50 cents from every dollar the state takes in goes to education.  The teachers are outraged that Moonbeam is talking about laying off teachers, and want the rich to pay more.

The California Federation of Teachers supports a bill by Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, which would increase the income tax rate from 9.3 percent to 10.3 percent on taxable income of $500,000 and up, union spokesman Steve Hopcraft said. A recent poll by the Public Policy Institute of California found that six in 10 likely voters favored raising income taxes on top earners to fund education.

Okay so let’s look again some facts of this dumbassery…

I’m not rich. This wouldn’t affect me too much I guess but here it goes. The tax the rich crowd is way off. (Again) The rich pay the most in income taxes, they buy a lot of high dollar items that they get hit for SALES taxes on. The use very few state services other than roads. They are probably the biggest group that are NOT using the public school system because of it’s incompetence. Rich folks want their kids to be prepared for life for the most part so I’m betting they enroll their kids in charter schools, private schools or if they are really on the ball they’ll send their kids out of state for education.

So pretty much EVERYTHING the Rich put in to the state doesn’t come back to them. It goes for pet projects, education, welfare  or whatever the state decides to do. Now let’s ask that question about the lower tax brackets. They are USING the systems education, and they get back money from the state in the form of tax refunds (I’m in this category)

Now we move on to charity, when you tax the rich (Again) and they are a custom to living the way they live, they will make cuts to their lifestyle just like the rest of us do when times get tough. Meaning: They might reduce their charitable giving, that absence means the state may have to pick up some of that. They will NOT buy high dollar items for a while, which drops the sales tax revenue for the state.

It also means they will look for other ways to keep or improve their lives. Meaning they may look to reside in another state. Perhaps the one they sent their kids to. They will also if they happen to be business owners and employ people, look to maintain their lifestyle by reducing overhead cost. Labor is a huge savings. They would pass on to the customer what they can and still be competitive, but they also may look at moving the business out of state, as is happening across this state in droves.

So what problems does a 1% tax increase present to the state of California? Well perhaps if that was ALL, maybe no problem. But it’s not. There’s the energy prices that are steady going up, the sales tax that is the highest in the nation, the never ending increases to health care costs and local taxes. So yep, if I’m making 500k a year and the state is going to take more from me, I’m going to make up the difference by doing some things different. Perhaps I buy my big ticket items in AZ rather than here. Perhaps I lay off employees or move my business, perhaps I just up and move all together. Then what happens? That 9.3% has turned into ZERO and how much does ZERO go into education funding? Yeah you were educated here in California if you don’t see the problem with Moonbeam and the state’s leadership.

California does it again: Giveaway continues to Illegals…

California does it again: Giveaway continues to Illegals…

In a state so broke day care centers are closing, families are on the streets, businesses are leaving rapidly, our schools are steady at the bottom of the nation, unemployment is around 20% ACTUAL. So this is what our elected enlightened decide to do…

Bill passed by California Assembly would provide college aid to some illegal immigrants

SACRAMENTO, Calif SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Illegal immigrants could receive college financial aid under legislation approved Thursday by the Assembly and apparently destined for the desk of a new Democratic governor who supports the concept.

California could add fuel to national debate over illegal immigrants’ rights by signing into law the “DREAM Act” measure, AB 131.

“This bill will ring across the country,” Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, a Democrat, told dozens of Latino supporters of the bill after Thursday’s 51-21 vote.

Moonbeam will sign this bill when it gets to his desk, he pretty much has to since he campaigned on it. The vast majority of LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVES in the legislature of this state are pushing this through on party lines. Well I say GOOD.

Why?

Because once this bill is passed, more money will be needed to pay for another “Progressive Program” that means taxes will have to be raised again on businesses to pay for it, which means MORE businesses will leave. I actually love this. Please pass some more giveaways, it seems fighting them from this position so far in the minority is not doing anything but giving me gray hair. So it’s time to join them. I want grants for gang bangers, I want grants for drug dealers, I want grants for prisoners on Death row, they need an education too. I want free health care, I want free gas for my car. I want it all… Let’s get it done Cali, YES WE CAN! We want more!

The reason I shall vote for everything the progressives want here in California is simple, they are too stupid to see the cliff they are approaching, so I want to push them off. That’s the kind of guy I am. Let’s give it a try.

Give Moonbeam everything he wants as long as it gives us everything free. If it costs us anything we need to tax the rich first!!!! Let’s go California, I’m right behind you as you approach that cliff.

Don’t bother lookin back though, I’ll be in AZ/Texas/Utah/Wyoming/Montana/Idaho and watching the train wreck on TV.

Oh wait, there’s another push off the cliff coming in about 200 days. California under Ahhnold passed “Cap and trade” here in California. So that’s another time bomb ticking as far as job creation goes. Hey Texas, look out for the flood of companies moving in. A word of advise, stop and search the trucks. IF there are NATIVE Californian’s in it, turn them around or you’ll end up infested with morons.

Businesses Bailing on California. Carls jr Gone to Texas.

Businesses Bailing on California. Carls jr Gone to Texas.

On the way home from the golf course yesterday I was listening to John and Ken on our local AM Talk Radio station. (KFI) They were talking with the CEO of Carls Jr Andrew Puzder (Not sure if that’s his name) about businesses leaving California. A couple of things we THOUGHT were happening around here ARE factually happening here.

Carls Jr wanted to build 350 restaurants in California. Now think about the JOBS that creates. Construction jobs, landscapers, employees, vendors, etc. Then look at the long term tax revenue for the state in the form of employees (Roughly 8,000 would be employed by these fast food joints) not so much income tax but SALES tax, car taxes, all the stuff surrounding an economy that offers jobs for those willing to work. Now understand WHERE these jobs are going? TEXAS.

The reason the CEO gave for NOT building here in California is:

1. It takes between 8 months and 2 years to just get the permits to build finalized. In Texas the average is 6 weeks.

2. Laws regarding employee and managers. He mentioned that managers make about 45k a year but can’t work the cook line. Some law regulating managers percentage of work doing managerial tasks.

3. Class action law suits resulting from the law mentioned above. They paid over 28 MILLION dollars in defense of these law suits.

4. Environmentalists are causing major delays in building and operating new businesses. These delays cost a lot of money. These are not laws regarding disposal of hazardous waste, these are laws like a lizzard lives in the area so a study must take place… Sometime takes months to complete and then deny applicants based on FEELING not fats.

These are but a few of the reasons he listed, I can’t find the interview online and these are just from memory.

The CEO said he’s been talking with Sacramento for over 2 years trying to get them to see how much their policies are hurting the state. He finally said enough and went to Texas to talk with Rick Perry. After the decision was made, all of the sudden Gavin Newsome and Moonbeam decide to get involved… They take a trip to Texas too.

Carls Jr was founded here in California. Now they are moving BILLIONS of dollars in STATE revenue to TEXAS because of the DEMOCRAT policies here in California.

I say GOOD MOVE Carls jr. Well done and Good luck.

Here’s a little side bar on the state of Texas and Carls jr. 2 stores in Texas just recently set sales records. In past ALL records for Carls were held by California stores. The CEO gave the reason as folks in California are pinching pennies because of the states economic situation. He says there is 20% unemployment here. The “Government” says it’s only 12.8% the actual is closer to 20%. If you are stretching the state check burgers don’t make the list most of the time. He said California has LOST a million jobs, where Texas gained them. The answer is not climate, it’s laws, regulation and taxes that drive jobs away and take revenue for the democrat’s projects. (Well who knew?)
