73,000 Blogs removed?

Just a quick note on the news that Blogetery has been shut down by the US Government.

I believe the Government is on a pace to remove our rights ASAP. I’m not sure nor do I care about the “Intended” reasons the company was shut down. IF there were violations of laws by “Bloggers” you shut them down, NOT THE WHOLE Company.

This is clearly a 1st amendment violation and the silence of the masses is Loud and CLEAR. It’s just like all the other laws that get passed in this nation. It doesn’t affect me so no big deal. This doesn’t affect me either, however; we must stand and rebut this action.

The testing of the waters is occurring right under our nose. The Obama Admin and DOJ are, and have been sticking their toes in the pool to see what kind of “Flashback” they will get. IF it’s a small ripple, expect the next step.

Our second Amendment rights are being violated in every state and at the federal level, yet the changes are so minor nobody really sees a problem. But the groundwork has, and is being laid for the next step.

Be careful of complacency, because these elected officials take it as a license to do more.

Anyone that doesn’t believe me just look at how hard we are having to fight to UNDO the gun laws that bit us in the as when “It didn’t affect us”….Getting a law signed is EASY compared to removing them.

  1. I agree whole heartedly. It’s no surprise to me that they shut down 73,000 blogs in one swipe. I guess that, for me, the silence is what surprises me the most. I won’t say that I go to every conservative blog site on the internet, but I do have a pretty hefty blog roll that I visit and even some that I don’t follow publicly. And other than yourself, I have only seen one other blogger touch this, so far.

Time and again, I have asked people at my site, “What is your limit? At what point will you stand up and say, enough is enough and make your disgust felt regardless of the fall out.”

    The silence is truly deafening.

I haven’t blogged on this because, frankly, I’ve already warned people that this very thing was coming, and they ignored the post. Perhaps I’ll repost it and add some comentary, but I’m about out of righteous indignation my friend. I’m starting to aquire a bunker mentality. I wonder how long before they start shutting down sites like mine. We’ll see.

    1. GW, My understanding is the government had “Evidence” that AQ was using the host…I have to ask, how in the world was AQ using 73k blogs? I’d sure love to know how many of the 73k were critical of Obama….If you are on a free site GW, I think you should consider paying for your own host. IF they shut you down then you have a recourse.

Bunker mentality? Not sure about that…I’m one of those that would rather advance than hold. I’m prepared for defense of my home and family, but if this shit keeps up, we will need to move out fast.

  2. Robert, you bring up a good point. The one about advancing instead of holding. That’s the mark of a warrior and I applaud you for it, however, no one can stand alone. And the point of my comment was that people haven’t gotten to the point where they are ready to take it past the “demonstration” mode.

By that I mean that there is a natural progression to resistance movements. First you talk to elected officials by phone, email, mail, or personal visits. If that doesn’t work then there are the demonstration marches and rallies. If that garners no positive action, then peaceful civil disobedience is required (I recommend the same people that showed up last year for the 9/12 march do the same with rifles slung.). If that doesn’t work then open revolt is the only method left to the people( or states. For instance, nullification or in the last extreme, secession).

The problem is, until enough people get angry enough to move past the demonstration phase, nothing is going to happen. Until that happens, we are left to our own devices. Bunker mentality, for me, is best described as a man waiting with arms held close, waiting to see if the resistance really exists, and hoping to have the chance to join. But until then, he’ll keep his head down and powder dry.

People aren’t, as TexasFred alluded to, “angry” yet. Not enough to ACT instead of sitting on their arses and wringing their hands. When they stop wringing and start resisting, I’ll regain some of my fire. Until then, I see very little point in banging my head against the wall.

  3. Fred, Hell yeah I’m angry, I’m angry at the Government, the Obama admin and the sheep that are allowing this shit to continue. These are the very same people that can’t handle FREEDOM, they need to be controlled…Sheep need a herder.

GW, unfortunately until an issue affects some folks they will not act, and even then they will reason it away. Case and Point: Obamacare. We heard, no fed funding for abortion, we heard “Not a tax” we heard “You can keep your doctor” and sheep were ok with it, they called those against it WRONG and worse…NOW what are we seeing? The exact same thing that we warned folks about…And still silence….What will it take to wake people up?

You are right we need more people to be angry, we have a large amount of Americans very angry, and we better take it out at the ballot box. IF not an armed conflict will more than likely be the only way…IF there is anything left to fight for.
