Taxes

• Give a tax break to 95% of Americans.

• Restore Clinton-era tax rates on top income earners.

• “If you make under $250,000, you will not see your taxes increase by a single dime. Not your income taxes, not your payroll taxes, not your capital gains taxes. Nothing.”

• Dramatically simplify tax filings so that millions of Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes.

• Give American businesses a $3,000 tax credit for every job they create in the U.S.

• Eliminate capital gains taxes for small business and startup companies.

• Eliminate income taxes for seniors making under $50,000.

• Expand the child and dependent care tax credit.

• Expand the earned income tax credit.

• Create a universal mortgage credit.

• Create a small business health tax credit.

• Provide a $500 “make work pay” tax credit to small businesses.

• Provide a $1,000 emergency energy rebate to families.

Energy

• Spend $15 billion a year on renewable sources of energy.

• Eliminate oil imports from the Middle East in 10 years.

• Increase fuel economy standards by 4% a year.

• Weatherize 1 million homes annually.

• Ensure that 10% of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012.

Environment

• Create 5 million green jobs.

• Implement a cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

• Get 1 million plug-in hybrids on the road by 2015.

Labor

• Sign a fair pay restoration act, which would overturn the Supreme Court’s pay discrimination ruling.

• Sign into law an employee free choice act — aka card check — to make it easier for unions to organize.

• Make employers offer seven paid sick days per year.

• Increase the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by 2009.

National security

• Remove troops from Iraq by the summer of 2010.

• Cut spending on unproven missile defense systems.

• No more homeless veterans.

• Stop spending $10 billion a month in Iraq.

• Finish the fight against Osama bin Laden and the al-Qaida terrorists.

Social Security

• Work in a “bipartisan way to preserve Social Security for future generations.”

• Impose a Social Security payroll tax on incomes above $250,000.

• Match 50% of retirement savings up to $1,000 for families earning less than $75,000.

Education

• Demand higher standards and more accountability from our teachers.

Spending

• Go through the budget, line by line, ending programs we don’t need and making the ones we do need work better and cost less.

• Slash earmarks.

Health care

• Lower health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year.

• Let the uninsured get the same kind of health insurance that members of Congress get.

• Stop insurance companies from discriminating against those who are sick and need care the most.

• Spend $10 billion over five years on health care information technology.

Let us use this as a check list. Now that Obama has seen the REAL picture of the world and he has been yanked out of fantasy land, it will be interesting to see his views change.

I honestly believe Obama has painted himself into a corner, he will not be able to DO 3/4 of the things he said he would do, and the “Blaming Bush” train has pulled out of the station. However, the left will cut him slack because after all, he is one of their own.

Prop. 8 foes plan Inland rallies on Saturday

Groups plan to rally outside city halls in Colton, Hemet, Moreno Valley, Riverside, Redlands and Palm Springs on Saturday as part of simultaneous national protests against California and other state’s newly approved bans on same-sex marriage.

On Nov. 4, California voters approved Prop. 8, which amends the state constitution to end same-sex marriage.

In the days since the measure passed, thousands of protesters have taken to California streets. They say the constitutional amendment discriminates against gays and lesbians and deprives them of the civil right to wed.

A Web site — www.jointheimpact.com — began promoting a coordinated nationwide protest this week, and the idea spread to local organizers such as Randall Lopez of the Inland Empire Human Rights Coalition.

“We have these protests to remind people,” said Lopez, who is organizing Saturday’s Colton protest. “In our opinion, this is wrong. We don’t have to pull the covers over our heads and wait till the next elections.”

But supporters of the ban on gay marriage say they voted to protect traditional marriage and family.

Everett Rice, legislative coordinator for the Riverside-based California Family Council, which helped put Prop. 8 on the ballot, said protesters have the right to speak their minds.

But “the majority of Californians disagree,” he said.

He added that Prop. 8 ensures that children learn that marriage is between a man and a woman and that what he considers “the homosexual agenda” is not taught in schools.

The Inland protests against the same-sex marriage ban will all begin at 10:30 a.m. in sync with rallies around the country opposed to gay marriage bans passed on Election Day in California, Florida and Arizona. Arkansas voters banned gay couples from adopting children.

Well now, this sounds promising…Time to rally the troops, if you have an hour to kill on Saturday, make sure you get to these protests and hold a sign giving the media the OTHER View.

Why are the gay and lesbian community protesting? They LOST PERIOD. The issue is settled, wait two years and try to get it back on the ballot. WE will remember this time, we will be putting up the video’s, the pictures and the writings of the losers of the prop 8 battle. Trust me when I tell you this will have an impact on the ballot of 2010. IF there is a gay marriage measure or Prop. it will get squashed because of your actions NOW! Think Immigration Protests.

The governor expresses hope that Proposition 8 would be overturned as protesters continued to march outside churches across California.

Reporting from Sacramento and Lake Forest — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Sunday expressed hope that the California Supreme Court would overturn Proposition 8, the ballot initiative that outlawed same-sex marriage. He also predicted that the 18,000 gay and lesbian couples who have already wed would not see their marriages nullified by the initiative.

“It’s unfortunate, obviously, but it’s not the end,” Schwarzenegger said in an interview Sunday on CNN. “I think that we will again maybe undo that, if the court is willing to do that, and then move forward from there and again lead in that area.”

So now we have the media, Jerry Brown and the “Governator” all voicing opposition to the will of the people.

Why is it that all of these liberal idiots are so happy about the presidential election, because that went their way, but Prop 8 needs to be overturned? What if 48% of America took to the streets and demanded Obama be removed because WE DON’T LIKE IT?

I think it’s time we let The Governator, and Jerry Brown know that WE THE PEOPLE voted and we expect that vote to be upheld.

Obama, a Democrat who won a decisive victory against Republican John McCain in Tuesday’s election to become the first black U.S. president as of January 20, vowed to seek unity.

He noted Republican President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush had invited Obama and his wife Michelle to the White House on Monday and that the Bushes had offered to do all they could to help with Obama’s transition.

In a statement to ABCNews.com, a spokesperson said Emanuel served on the board for “13 months-a relatively short period of time.”

The spokesperson said that while on the board, Emanuel “believed that Freddie Mac needed to address concerns raised by Congressional critics.”

Freddie Mac agreed to pay a $50 million penalty in 2007 to settle the SEC complaint and four top executives of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation were charged with negligent conduct and, like the company, agreed to settle the case without admitting or denying the allegations.

The actions by Freddie Mac are cited by some economists as the beginning of the country’s economic meltdown.

The federal government this year was forced to take over Freddie Mac and a sister federal mortgage agency, Fannie Mae, pledging at least $200 billion in public funds.

Freddie Mac records have been subpoenaed by the Justice Department as part of its investigation of the suspect accounting procedures.

Emanuel was named to the Freddie Mac board by President Bill Clinton in 2000 and resigned his position when he ran for Congress in May, 2001.

During Emanuel’s time with Freddie Mac:

Freddie Mac was accused of illegally using corporate resources between 2000 and 2003 for 85 fundraisers that collected about $1.7 million for federal candidates. Much of the fundraising benefited members of the House Financial Services Committee, a panel whose decisions can affect Freddie Mac.

The fundraisers were organized by then-Freddie Mac lobbyists Robert Mitchell Delk and Clark Camper, who described them to the corporation’s board of directors as “political risk management,” the FEC said.

So on his first test, the neophyte Obama FAILED in the most basic of appointments. While I do think Emanuel will be good for ISRAEL and her fears of Obama (He was on the IDF I hear) It is completely unknown if he harbors the “Pro-Israel” mindset or does he think Israel should apologize for living.

Obama said that passing a stimulus package will be his first move if the lame-duck Congress fails to do so before he takes office January 20.

“It’s not going to be easy for us to dig ourselves out of the hole that we’re in,” he said, flanked by Vice President-elect Joe Biden and members of his transition economic advisory board.

Protests Over Gay-Marriage Ban Escalate in California

Angry gay rights activists in California continue to protest the Election Day passage of Proposition 8, which amended the state constitution to restrict marriage to between a man and a woman.

A diverse coalition of social and religious conservatives campaigned to overrule a state Supreme Court judgment six months ago that legalized same-sex marriage and saw 18,000 gay and lesbian couples marry in the Golden State.

Ballot initiatives to illegalize gay marriage also passed in Florida and Arizona on Tuesday.

Supporters of same-sex marriage are aiming their wrath at the Mormon church, which raised $20 million of the overall $75 million that was spent to promote the California initiative.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also encouraged its members to volunteer their time for the campaign.

“The vote’s been passed and we’re happy with that result, obviously,” said Kui Gomez, a member of the Mormon church. “And you gotta remember it wasn’t just the Mormon church that donated money. Evangelicals, the Jewish synagogues, Catholic churches” also contributed, Gomez said.

A group of protestors plans to rally Friday in front of the headquarters of the Mormon church in Salt Lake City. Protestors demonstrated Thursday outside a Mormon temple in Los Angeles. About 1,000 gay-marriage supporters waved signs and brought afternoon traffic to a halt.
