Due Process? Not in CA…

Due Process? Not in CA…

You say “Government will never come and get your guns?” You say “We will fight them” Um, Where are you? Well, I seriously can’t blame anyone for not standing up for these guys, I mean they are mentally ill or have domestic abuse issues or a restraining order… huh?

California Seizes Guns as Owners Lose Right to Keep Arms

Wearing bulletproof vests and carrying 40-caliber Glock pistols, nine California Justice Department agents assembled outside a ranch-style house in a suburb east of Los Angeles. They were looking for a gun owner who’d recently spent two days in a mental hospital.

hey knocked on the door and asked to come in. About 45 minutes later, they came away peacefully with three firearms.

This is freedom? This is due process? Armed agents CONFISCATING your firearms based on what a judge in CA decides? No peer review, no jury.. Just a feel good political class who’ve decided THEY can see into the future and take your guns.

This particular case isn’t too troubling because the media says the guy was mentally unstable.. The same media we bash all the time for their biased reporting, but we truth them this time? Odd.

In CA its the beginning. We the firearm owners in this state are fighting a losing battle alone. IF the nation stood with us here and we were able to insert a bit of common sense to the issue and WIN the day HERE, the nation would be safe from this type of tyranny. But alas, we’ll just write CA off and say it won’t happen in my state… Um, when it goes FEDERAL it happens in ALL OF OUR STATES!.

CA is a target rich environment for tyrants. look at Sacramento, look at the standard of living here, the taxes, the unemployment, the crime rate, the gangs the entire state is headed into the shitter at warp speed. And the wonderful political elite are taking your right to protect yourself…

Come on San Andreas, shake the stupid out of this state!

California Prop. 19: Legal the Pot.

California Prop. 19: Legal the Pot.

On November 2nd we in California are going to be voting on the legalization of Marijuana in this state. I have stayed away from opining on this until now.

First the Pro position:

It’s no worse than alcohol, and it can be regulated as such. The taxable income of the product will add much needed income to the state.

The Con Position:

Regulating the drug will not be possible and it won’t be controlled due to the manufacturing process being so easy. The income generated by the taxing of pot, will be offset by the problems caused by it.

I can relate more with the “Con” position because I grew pot for sale back in my youth. It’s not that difficult. As opposed to making a good quality liquor or beer. In order to produce your own version of Jack Daniels, it requires a lot of work. To grow a pot plant it takes; Seeds, some good indoor lighting (Or the sun) and a conducive environment and time. That’s it.

So what will happen if California legalizes pot? Nothing really. It will be challenged in court right off the bat. At that point we will hear the cries of supporters “The people voted, pot should be legal now.” To that I ask, the people voted for prop 187 (Illegal Immigration) we voted for Prop 8 (No on Gay marriage) and they both were overturned by activist judges. Why would this be different?

Personally I don’t care if they legalize it or keep it illegal. Those that want to toke, are still going to toke. I will be voting against it because I see no benefit. All legalizing it will do is create a better quality, which will be grown at home by people that want to get it cheaper than they can at the store. Why pay 30 bucks for 10 joints, if you can grow your own? How will they determine what pot was “Legally” purchased and what pot was homemade? It will create another government agency with far reaching legal issues that will cause us more problems in the long run…

With that being said: When I retire, I plan on sitting on my porch in a very beautiful mountainous area and firing up a stogie at sunset that would make cheech and chong blush! I will have earned that right….

Oh and ya’ll may want to invest in dorito’s….

California starting to turn out the lights..

California starting to turn out the lights..

I found this looking around the internet. I can’t confirm this story is 100% true but I can tell you in my area it is certainly FACTUAL.

People begin living without electricity and water in California

I couldn’t find statistics for local utility shut offs in my area, but I knew we would start to see more and more of this.

Houses everywhere are going vacant. People don’t say goodbye, they don’t leave a number, they just disappear. With their disappearance we add another vacant house to the street. But families living in housing without utilities is a new sight for me to behold. I spoke recently with a rep from So Cal Edison who, full time contacts residence who have had their electricity turned off due to non payment. She has a negotiator sent in and they work on a reduced payment. It’s amazing to me, that now, it is becoming acceptable in California to camp out in your home.

People are losing their homes, losing their cars and losing their dignity. How are we going to afford kids clothes and school supplies for the coming year? How can we expect families to pay for all these additional costs when the economy is in the shape it in. I ask myself this everyday.

On my street alone there 50 houses from cross street to cross street. 10 of them sit empty, 4 have for sale signs with “Bank Owned” flags on them. My house value has dropped from a high of 420k to just a little more than I paid for it 15 yrs ago.

We have had two houses on the block broke into by homeless folks and used as a place to sleep. Our neighborhood got together to try and police our own yard so to speak, and it has helped as far as crime and squatters…

The underlying issue of the despair is JOBS. There is NO JOBS in this state to speak of. Unless you are in the service industry such as health care or an elected official. WHY IS THAT? Mmm, could it be the anti-business environment created by the “Tax the rich” liberals in Sacramento and DC?

Something the liberals/progressives in power don’t seem to understand is pretty basic to even this neanderthal redneck. No Businesses = No Jobs, No tax revenue, No money for your pet projects…Simple stuff really.

Arizona vs California

Arizona vs California

Well, lets look at one particular instance, because the competition is so one sided it’s not a real fight. Arizona is now one of the ELITE American states. Arizona, Texas, Alaska, and perhaps one or two others are all that’s left out of 50.

Ariz. to allow concealed-carry without permits

The governor just signed the law, so it’ll take effect in a few months. Two other states, Alaska and Vermont, already have similar rules. There are two caveats. One, people carrying concealed must tell police if they’re asked. Also, police can temporarily take a concealed weapon from a person, even during traffic stops, the Arizona Republic reports. No gun-safety classes will be required.

And then there is California:

California: Open Carry Ban on the Horizon?

Article by m46607
(15 Hours Ago) in Society / Guns
Months ago we were bombarded by the Brady Campaign’s ruthless attempts to ban the open, lawful carry of firearms in public places such as Starbucks. Determined to remain on the outskirts of the debate, the coffee giant chimed in to issue a statement declaring its acceptance and compliance with State law. In California it is quite legal to openly display a firearm as long as the weapon is unloaded and holstered.

For now.

Democratic assembly-woman Lori Saldana of San Diego has authored a bill which would effectively eliminate the open carry of firearms. A shocking twist in the debate over California gun rights, such measures would ultimately remove the ability of Californians to defend themselves from like threats. As many residents and non-residents are aware California is already a “May-Issue” State with regards to concealed carry licensing and now their only means of lawfully carrying a firearm is under attack. While open carry advocates have urged their legislators to make concealed carry and other laws to put those who are scared by the sight of an openly-toted, unloaded firearm at ease, responses from the Assembly have been more reactionary than pro-gun advocates expected.

“What I’m concerned about is people who have no training can carry a gun for no other purpose than to make a public statement,” said Saldana. Up until the present all political statements issued have been peaceful. With no other alternatives available, gun owners have adopted the only lawful means of protecting themselves when law enforcement is not readily available to intervene during a forcible felony in progress.

Law enforcement disagrees with such personal responsibilities; the California Police Chiefs Association has signed on as a sponsor of the bill. Emeryville Police Chief Ken James issued the following statement: “Officers are taught from day one in the academy that guns are a threat… This open carry places officers in a position between a rock and a hard spot.“
More here

So neighboring states differ by that much? Oh and one of the two states are releasing FELONS because of overcrowding. Can you guess which one? Here’s another tidbit of info, our elected officials here in California are disarming the public, freeing Felons, coddling Illegals, taxing business to extinction, but now the next step is climate-gate, they are close to passing a law that bans chemicals used in the manufacture beverage/food containers. Then it will be banning cold medicine because of the “Meth” issue.

What that says is our liberal demorats have NO PROBLEM at all banning anything, they believe YOU don’t know shit, and YOU can’t control yourself, you must not have temptation, nor anything that can be construed as harmful. BUT they haven’t banned cars yet.

What we have here is a tale of two states, one believes in the American way of life, the other believes Government should control your every move. You decide which state you would rather live in. But keep the faith guys, California sends 53 reps to the house of Reps in order to help the nation “progress”…. 🙄

As California goes, so goes the nation…We’re Broke.

As California goes, so goes the nation…We’re Broke.

California may be out of cash in February

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – California is on track to run out of cash in February or March and faces a $15 billion cash shortage by the end of its fiscal year in June unless officials plug an $11.2 billion budget gap, according to the state’s budget director.

Additionally, if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and lawmakers fail to close the current fiscal year’s budget shortfall soon, California, the most populous U.S. state, may in March delay payments to its vendors or hand them notes promising payment, according to a December 1 letter to top lawmakers from the director of the Department of Finance, Michael Genest.

A copy of the letter was obtained on Friday by Reuters.

“Specifically, it now appears certain that available cash reserves from all sources will fall below the cash cushion target of $2.5 billion in February and that the state will begin delaying payments or paying in registered warrants in March,” Genest said in his letter.

“To reduce this threat, the administration is also proposing legislation to increase internal borrowable cash resources,” Genest added. “However, even with this cash solution the state will not be able to pay all of its bills in the absence of quick action on the budgetary solutions.”

Seriously this is a SIMPLE problem to solve. Stop all “Welfare aid” to those here illegally. That would be expected to save roughly 10 million dollars a day for the state. Not to mention removing the salaries of those that work in the “Give away” part of the state government, there would be no more need for them. So we are probably up to 15 to 20 million dollars a day in revenue.

Just trying to help there Arnie…

You know that old saying about

“Give a man a fish, he’ll eat once, and ask for another fish when he’s hungry again. Show him how to fish, he’ll be self sufficient and be there if you need a fish later?”

California has had a BAD habit of giving fish for nothing, and folks here have no idea how to fish anymore, why should they? The state will take care of everything… Time to pay up Arnie. Time to cut the strings. Tough times require tough actions, cutting the PD cash will cost you later, removing state funding for day care for working mothers will cost you… What will it cost you to remove the BLOODSUCKERS from the feeding trough? NADA.

Some of the reason we are in the shape we are in, (reminding ALL of you that California is the 8th largest economy in the WORLD) is because of a lack of leadership… Arnold the RINO, had the right idea, and he had a lot of support… Well until it came to actually cutting somethings, and removing some power from the liberal elites. Then the REAL Arnie came out and showed his Compromising side, it has been headed south ever since… Good luck to the states with fewer resources than WE here have. Can’t wait to see how the Demorats FUCK up the nation some MORE.

Schwarzenegger Terminates Trans Fat in Calif.

By MOLLY HUNTER

July 25, 2008 —

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it official: California will be the first trans-fat free state in the nation.

All-natural palm, rice and soybean oils will soon be king, and life in the Golden State will be forever altered.

The California legislature pushed the bill through last week, and Schwarzenegger signed it into law Friday, July 25.

The ban will require food providers to begin phasing out trans fat oils by July 1, 2009. Thereafter, noncompliance with the ban will result in fines of up to $1,000.

Trans unsaturated fatty acids are the partially hydrogenated oils that result from a chemical process producing solid fats with a longer shelf life.

These so-called “trans fats” were once thought to be healthier than butter, but research in the last decade has shown that they are much more harmful to health than had been believed. According to the American Heart Association, trans unsaturated fatty acids are medically proven to increase the risk of coronary heart disease by raising bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and reducing good cholesterol levels (HDL).

With more than half a million Americans dying each year from heart disease, the switch may be coming not a moment too soon.

This ban comes on the heels of the New York City’s prohibition on trans fats in restaurants, which took full effect on July 1. But the wheels began turning in California before the Big Apple’s eateries sought substitutes for their deep fryers.

Tiburon, a northern California town of about 8,700 people, has boasted trans fat-free restaurants since 2004. All 18 restaurants turned away, rather effortlessly and voluntarily, from partially hydrogenated oils at the urging of a lawyer, Steven Joseph, and his task force at bantransfats.com.

“The change has been very well received by our customers,” said Carl Peschlow, owner of Sweden House Bakery in Tiburon. “Those so-called bad fats do, however, give our croissants a little oomph.”

Peschlow said that while his bakery made the change relatively early, they still use a “tiny bit” of trans fat in their croissant recipe. Otherwise, Peschlow said, “the croissants just look like fat pancakes.”

When New York City turned its attention to trans fats, they looked to Joseph’s Project Tiburon for guidance. Joseph, a California transplant from Washington D.C., also led the fight against Kraft in 2003, asking the food giant to “cease and desist marketing and selling Oreo cookies to children in the State of California” until the popular chocolate sandwich cookie contained zero trans fats.

Kraft caved and has since become a leader in the industry, reducing or eliminating trans fats in 650 of its products. “Clearly that’s what people wanted and that’s what they care about,” said Susan Davison, Kraft’s director of corporate affairs.

Joseph and his team also prompted McDonalds to re-think its use of trans fats, and today Wendy’s has gone completely trans fat-free. (California staple In-N-Out Burger has never used trans fats since opening in 1948.)

The California Restaurant Association along with other organizations has led the charge against the ban, claiming that many restaurants are making the shift without the government’s help.

Chains including Taco Bell, Denny’s, Burger King, Olive Garden, El Pollo Loco and Red Lobster have voluntarily pledged to fully or partially eliminate trans fats in their kitchens.

Here we go again, cell phones, cigarettes, trans-fats what’s next? Might be Guns? hell they are already harder to get here for the “LAW Abiding citizens” than anywhere else in the country. BUT, to get one off the street is fairly simple, I could load my house with a variety of firearms in a matter of days because of the folks I know, NOT LEGALLY, but I could.

When we allow this intrusion, this type of nanny state politics we can’t take it back, there will not be a “Trans-fat” overturn or a cell phone overturn, and when they add stronger gun laws that have proven NOT to have decreased gun crimes, they have not overturned or decreased those laws in any way.

This is typical liberal idiocy IMO, we make the manufacturers or food chains put the information out there about their product, either on wrappers or menu’s the information about trans-fats is all over the place but in moderation like anything else it is acceptable and will not kill you, the key is “Moderation” and liberals seem to think they need to make that decision for you.

Funny liberals are the ones crying the loudest about lost liberties.

Mark my words folks, this is just the start of more laws, federal and state. YOU all will be dealing with the Nanny state mentality.

Arm and Ammo up.
