Ron Paul: Questions for his supporters…

Ron Paul: Questions for his supporters…

Here goes an attempt to open the eyes of some of Ron Paul’s die hard supporters. I know it may be a futile effort but hey I’m in a mood today:

Something has been bugging me about Ron Paul lately and I think I’ve stumbled upon WHY I am so “anti-Paul” as labeled by a few emails I’ve got lately.

First let me explain something. I have tried to be fair and balanced with ALL candidates. I’ve tried to remain very civil in my posts and positive about all of them rather than bash them. I have issues with ALL of them to one degree or another. So without further ado let me ask these questions of Ron Paul’s supporters (Especially YOU “loveronpaul@gmail.com”)

1. Ron Paul has been in congress for over 30 years. He’s never moved up to the senate, he hasn’t gained any more “Sway” in the house than freshman who have just entered the chamber. He’s had many votes where he was among single digit objections to bills and for 30 years that pattern has remained the same. Where do you see “Leadership” potential in Ron Paul? A POTUS must lead, what examples of his leadership in congress are there to draw on?

2. Ron Paul has very hands off approach to foreign policy which is not necessarily a bad thing. However given the state of our world today, do you honestly believe that NO American influence will result in a more positive view of us from abroad? Outside of Iran as a target of war mongering, what should the USA do about helping other nations who are friendly to our nation or not friendly but a humanitarian crisis is occurring?

3.  Right now we have a government at a stand still. We wanted the runaway liberal congress stopped and we accomplished that in 2010.  With a Ron Paul POTUS how do you think the congress would be received? Many of the spending bills that must be passed do not fall under Ron Paul’s vision and as such he votes against most of them. Would he veto them? And if he wielded that veto pen as often as he suggests he would, what exactly would get done with a Ron Paul Presidency? And what if he was elected to lead a divided congress?.

4. An experiment in Ron Paul’s “Constitutional” absolutism would be the minute pictures of dead babies/women/children in a foreign land started being shown on TV screens across our land. Would Ron Paul be able to maintain his absolutionist, isolation, hands off other nations problems views when he had the power to stop it?

5. Ron Paul stated to a question asked by Meghan Kelly that all SCOTUS Judges were “All bad and All good”… So what should us non-Paulies take from that answer? Where would he tilt the court if he were to nominate 2 judges? IF all of them are equally bad and good, how would he improve that if he had the power to do so?

6. Ron Paul is POTUS and the day he takes office Iran, Syria and Egypt all attack Israel. Israel handles it themselves as Ron says they should. The middle east explodes into war for a solid month. Stock market collapses, oil shoots up to record highs, Israel Nukes Iran the war ends but NO oil is leaving the middle east because lanes of travel are closed. Paul says open up drilling here to create jobs and decrease our dependency on Middle east oil. BUT, the environmentalists, progressive democrats in several oil producing states take the feds to court (Granted by constitutional challenge of the feds by the states) How does a Ron Paul handle the chaos of the 79 gas crisis coupled with a nation of lawyers with opposing views of the constitution? And how long do you think Ron Paul would last under that kind of pressure?

The reason I ask these questions is Ron Paul has done nothing but complain about how things were done, ask WHY we are doing what we are doing and say he wouldn’t have done whatever was done. He has not had to make a decision with peoples lives to this date. He has only had to vote on something along with the rest or vote against it. That always gives him company in his vote. IF he’s elected POTUS the decisions he makes are HIS alone.

This is why I think a governor or at the very least a senator or leader of one or the other is the only folks that should even be considered POTUS.  They have had to make decisions on their own with their name on it. They have had to look people in the eyes after a decision has been made and make a case for it. Paul and Bachmann have not had to do that.

So let the emails (For cowards) begin or feel free to drop the answers in the comment section for those of you with a set of nuts who aren’t nuts.

  1. Let’s lay out the facts about our current state. We have had our right to privacy taken from us by the patriot act. We have lost our right to life if we are considered by the administration to be guilty of conspiring with a terrorist we can now be legally killed by a drone. We have lost our right to a trial before indefinite detention in a military prison. We have to be poked and probed before riding on an airplane. Our savings and retirement accounts have been reduced to a joke. All of the media channels not only do not report on how our bill of rights is under attack but they come at one of the only politicians who openly oppose the rest of the congress on these issues. Most people oppose Ron Paul on foreign policy. If you do a little snooping into the money trail you will find out why there are so many who have to make him look like a fool on his stance. Most of the pro war politicians have heavily invested in arms companies that somehow get federal contracts, as well as Halliburton type of construction companies paid by the federal government to rebuild the areas that our military destroys. Anyone who has been at the bases can tell you about the unbelievable amount of money these contractors are getting paid. Do a search on the Carlisle group and other investments that our elected officials are involved with. The longer that we are at war the more money these guys get. That’s the reason why these wars are like a steady sprinkle of activity instead of a full rain. I also would have you do a check on Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. He and Rupert Murdock own Viacom, News corp, and many other media outlets. They also have a big stake in continuing the wars. When Ron Paul really gets eyebrows raised is when he talks about blowback. We haven’t been the only victim of this. In the eighties Great Brittan suffered a great loss at the hands of the IRA as a result of their aggressions against Ireland. I have had to do a little research to find these things and hope that you will verify my findings with your own research.
    Thanks,
    Bill Dickison

  2. I am certainly no coward. I guess I’ll answer these in the order you asked them.

    1. Ron Paul has not compromised in his beliefs, as such he is the enemy of all the life long congress critters. He doesn’t believe like they do, and it is hard to get them to understand how his ideas are better for the people, when there is no profit in it for them. But as POTUS he has veto power, and can tell congress that he will veto every bill until they give him the ones he wants. Granted Congress could use 2/3 majority to override his vetoes but what are the chances of that happening?

    2. Honestly what happens in the rest of the world is none of our concern. We have humanitarian crisis’ happening right here in the US. Do you have any idea how many Men, Women, and Children are homeless? How many children go hungry at night cause mommy and daddy cant afford to buy food for them? Lets take care of our problems before we decide to play world police.

    3. See number one, I’m sure if congress realized that the POTUS was gonna veto everything they do they would quickly try to appease him so that they could get their pet projects signed into law also.

    4. The POTUS has no power to stop things like that from happening in other countries. It is happening right now as i type this, and nothing any of us do will stop it.

    5. Most likely he would appoint judges with Jeffersonian/Libertarian views of the constitution.

    6. Drill baby drill. The only reason we are so dependent on foreign oil now is because of these environmentalists. To simply go with someone because its easier, or you already know they are gonna screw us over is ridiculous. If it’s worth having, then its worth fighting for, if its worth fighting for, then its worth dying for.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, “Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

  3. Okay Mayor here we go:
    1. That goes to leadership. We have that “Do as I say or I’ll veto it” leader now how’s that working out? A POTUS needs to have the ability to see ALL sides of an issue debate it and come to the best decision on it’s conclusion. Paul hasn’t been able to LEAD on any issue in 30 years. He’s not been able to produce a majority to follow that lead on anything. A leader must lead not complain and whine. That’s why were where we are now.

You ASSUME that congress would “Appease” him if he were POTUS I am saying there’s NO FKN Way that would happen.

I’ll answer your other pro-Paul writs later, this one is a loser Mayor.

  4. Your mention of seeing dead babies overseas was in particular, in bad taste. Are you suggesting that it would be better if we see pictures of dead or crippled American soldiers overseas? Would that make you feel better? Also, I don’t understand you progressives claiming that RP is an isolationist. He never said such a thing. He said we have 12,000 diplomats and that its about time we start using them. Either use them or get rid of the dead weight and wasted taxpayer money. Let’s face it, people are more amenable to change when talked to rather than having a gun stuck in their face.
Now, let’s look at his 30 year record to see if he’s a leader on an issue, like the Fed. In the past, RP was the lone voice coming out of the wilderness, now, it’s really quite popular among Republicans. From no support then, to everyone talking about it today, seems like he did pretty well.
Here’s another good point, over half of the people in this country don’t want another war. The other candidates can’t wait to blow something up. It appears to me that if over half the country doesn’t want a war, then democracy should prevail. Else, get ready to pay $8/gallon at the gas pump.
I agree with Mayor Joel above about Supreme court nominees. We could use a few Jeffersonian leaning justices in the court. Perhaps it would bring about the end of the police state, or at least restore a few of our inalienable rights that Bush and Obama took away from us.
Personally, I think you are the coward. You appear to be afraid of Liberty, or maybe personal responsibility. Don’t you think that every citizen in this country should be rsponsible and independent and take care of their own interests? Isn’t that what made this country great? If you want a nanny-state, then I recommend socialist Europe. The problem there is what Margaret Thatcher said: “The only problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money!” This appears to be true today. Look at the mess they created for themselves. They are on the verge of economic collapse. The numbers don’t lie. There is no way for them to ever pay off their debts. Borrowing more is not going to make them solvent, it just prolongs the collapse and making it worse when it finally comes.

  5. As I have stated on numerous occasions, Ron Paul is nuttier than a squirrel turd, and so are his supporters…

Mayor Joel Stoner? Mayor of a town that has less than 300 people, yeah, there’s a lesson in civics… A Libertarian asshat conned 50.1 % of that HUGE voting block into voting for him… Like Paul conned the loons in his district for so many years.

I have to wonder? Is Stoner a name or a pass time?

    1. TexasFred, what is up with the personal attacks on others? You know nothing about me or my city. You give no value to this discussion at all. At least i was brave enough to share my point of view on all topics mentioned. You just attack people because you dont like what they say. I don’t like what you say, but i will fight to the death to protect your right to say it.

A little caveat be very careful what you say to elected officials. Slander, libel, and threats are taken very seriously.

      1. GO FUCK YOURSELF… How’s that for careful? I’m supposed to fear you because YOU are an elected official?? LMAO… Seriously??

All I know is what I read about you on the ‘net and here, you’re a punk-ass small town, and I mean SMALL (Macks Creek Pop: 267) town Mayor, take your veiled threats and shove em up your ass fuck head…

      2. Mayor, this bothers me. You are a capital L libertarian it’s obvious by your bio and your support for Paul. Meaning you believe ALL of our rights are permanent and shouldn’t be altered right? Then how the hell can you threaten a law suit for “Slander” because of speech? is the 1st amendment only applicable when it doesn’t really affect you?… How can this be?

        1. While there is no law that says you can not say something, there are laws that say you can be held responsible for what you say. It’s not illegal to yell FIRE in a crowded theater, but if you do and someone gets hurt you will certainly be sued.

As to Texas Fred, it seems he is only capable of name calling. Not one single post of his are relevant to the subject at hand, nor are they educated. I am a Libertarian, with Republican leanings. I am very pro second amendment.

I believe that our natural born rights can not be taken away from us. By that i do mean that even felons should still have the right to vote, and to own firearms. If they can not be trusted to use their rights then they should not be released from prison.

I am not afraid of empty threats on the internet. I carry every day. I was forced to become a politician in order to help my City grow. To not become another ghost town. I am actually trying to make life better for my citizens. Can you or TexasFred say that?

I believe gays should be able to get married, but i also believe marriage should not be sanctioned by the government because i see marriage as a religious act. I believe that everyone 18+ should be able to own a firearm if they want to. If i thought for one second that Ron Paul had a chance at winning in 2012 i would have no trouble voting for him. As it is i will most likely be voting for whoever the Republican candidate is.

Anyone so set in their ways that they can not allow their beliefs to be challenged has built their beliefs on thin ice.

          1. You can believe anything you wish, so can I, I believe Ron Paul is a MORON and you are a cock sucker… How’s that??

Now, go FUCK yourself little boy… You threatened, veiled threats, then you back off like the hypocritical cock sucking Ron Paultard you are…

Idiots and MORONS, your voters or Paul’s supporters?? We report, fans decide…

          2. TexasFred,
How was that a threat in any fashion? Just letting you know that certain things can be bad for you to say to certain people. I still find it interesting that you can only post personal attacks and nothing of any substance. What have i said that you believe is hypocritical? I’ve read your site, and other than the personal attacks, name calling, and such. We are a lot alike. I’m not afraid to speak my position and defend it. And if given hardcore evidence i am even willing to change my point of view.

  6. Mayor, good and fair questions and I’ll do my best to answer. First, a caveat: There is no Utiopia on this earth and if everyone in the U.S. was in lock-step agreament we would be in real trouble. With that, here we go.

    1. Since we have a congress in the single digit approval range, it is no surprise that he hasn’t agread with them over the years. The fact is, they have been getting it wrong for years: Increasing the size of government no matter which party is in power and trampling on the constitution. Mayor, do you think you could resist the temptation to just go along with everyone else and make some deals? Think about it, 30 years of saying “no” to all the enticements offered by his collegues. Refusing to sign up for the lucrative congressional pension plan, giving back whatever allotment his office did not spend. How do you lead a group that only cares about being re-elected, inside trades without guilt, and spins everything that comes there way? The only way to “lead” in that type of environment is to stick to your guns and continue to voice your opinion. How long do most people elected to congress resist the lure of power and just go along to get along? That takes real conviction, real courage, and is what a true leader is made of. When you think about it, most of what congress has done over the last 30 years is to increase the size of the debt and to increase the power of government. When all around you are doing the wrong thing, the only way to lead is set an example and do the right thing.

    2. Outside of Iran as a target of war mongering, what should the USA do about helping other nations who are friendly to our nation or not friendly but a humanitarian crisis is occurring?

Mayor, I would first take exception with your “NO” American influence. Even if we are not bombing other nations, we wield a tremendous amout of influence by the very fact we have the strongest military in the world (maintained under Paul) and the largest economy in the world. In the case of humanitarian disasters, the citizens of this country always support NGO’s with there monetary contributions. If another country asked us for help, say aircraft, chopers, etc to help in a flood or other disaster – Paul would be the first to gladly offer help. So he would certainly provide manpower and material if another country ASKED for help. However, much strife is caused by civil wars. Countries must be able to decide there own fate. What if the French had won our Revolutionary War for us? What would we have to celebrate on July 4th? – the great French Victory for us? Finally, when we have to borrow 40 cents of every dollar we spend, we simply cannot be involved in every civil war or conflict in the world. What good can we do the world if our economy has failed?

    3. I would argue that getting nothing done is better than simply increasing our debt with more spending. If the success of congress is measured simply by “doing” something – good or bad – then I think you have the wrong perception. We have stopped the liberals? Perhaps slowed things down a bit. But we must REVERSE the course we are on. It is typical that people want congress to “Do something”. Much of what they do only makes matters worse. Like the failed statist idea that government can “create jobs”. The only jobs they create are government jobs that add to the deficit and continuous on the road to failed soveriegn debt. Example: Cell phone use in the car must cause accidents so we will pass a FEDERAL law banning them. Look People “we are doing something about the problem”. As RP says, what if stats showed eating in your car was more dangerous? Do we need the police pulling us over for cheese burger violations. Sometimes less is more. And think about this, when asked about the recent super committee Paul responded, without spin, that they would not agea to anything and they would toss the automatic cuts. Of course, he was right. What a breathe of fresh air to have a POTUS that just gave it to us straight. Perhaps he could shame the congress into doing the right thing simply by being honest with the people. Like he says, at this point many people view politics as some kind of football game. That is childish and unproductive.

    4. “An experiment in Ron Paul’s “Constitutional” absolutism would be the minute pictures of dead babies/women/children in a foreign land started being shown on TV screens across our land.”
I could not agrea more. Start showing the pictures of all the dead woman and children in the ME. Where are they? Could you imagine 5 kids in your neighborhood killed by the police when they attempted to catch a robber? There would be outrage. But we kill kids all the time with our drones. We never learn their names, let alone see any pictures. So yes indeed, we need to see the photos of all the innocents killed overseas.

    5. They are good when the uphold the constitution and bad when they ignore it because of their personal preferences. Answer: appoint strict constitutionalists.

    6. So you think Rick Perry, since he is a governor, would be a better POTUS? Really? Or would you rather have one of the others that panders to whoever they happen to be speaking to? Where is the philosophy underpinning the others actions? Where is their plan – detailed plan – to get us out of this mess? They are the “same-old-same-old”. Pander to the base during the primary and run to the center in the general election.

“What ifs” can be fun to play with. Like the hypothetical young man dying because he did not buy insurance. Of course, we never hear about his hypothetical friends or hypothetical family….

Mayor, please explain to me why a country, for the first time in history, would be willing to destroy itself? The Persian people are a proud race – do you really think their leaders woul be willing to self-destruct? The Mullahs and the other leaders live very comfortable lives, along with their wives and children. The notion that they would be the first country in the history of the world to kill off their own race is absolutely ridiculous. Pumping up Iran as this great threat is simply cover. If YOU lived in Iran. Yes you. And the countries around you – China, Russia, Pakistan, Israel, India – all had nukes, wouldn’t you want one? Especially when you saw that countries that did not have nukes and bent to the will of the U.S. were subject to invasion – see Lybia. Looking at the world through the “righteous eyes of America” is looking at the world in a very biased way. Nuclear weapons are technology from 1945. I would not like to see any more countries get them. I am more worried about Pakistani nukes and the nukes still in Russian than I am about as of yet non-exist Iranian nukes. Again, the idea that Iran is somehow the only country in the world willing to start a war that they KNOW will result in their country and their people being obliterated is pure nonesense. It plays well to those easily swayed by fear. If you are a true, brave American, you would not be cowering under this false fear. Like those who are willing to give up their freedoms under the constitution to allow a police state because they are so afraid a terrorist is going to blow up there house in Peoria. To those people I can only say – grow a pair.

Mayor, thanks for starting a conversation. It gets tireing reading all the comments on the web: Circus car, clowns, wingnuts, get more popcorn, and of course all those that have discovered the word “meme”. I guess they think they are being funny and original. We need real debate not a bunch name calling. The “crazy uncle” crap, so original. But debating actual issues, that takes to much work. To truly understand all of Paul’s positions would take me several years, so I don’t expect those who like slogans to every get it. You would have to have a very good understanding of the FED and economics, and understanding of exactly what 5 Federal cabinet level departments do, and understanding of the complete geopolitical situation….
But take some recent callers from the Bill Bennet Show: “That Mitt Romney is such a handsome feller, and his family is so handsome too, I’d love to see them in the white house” – Wow, what an in-depth analysis. Or how about this one concerning Herman: “So he’s a ladies man, that don’t bother me none”. God help us one and all.

  7. ooops, I meant to address my comments to Robert, not Mayor. Well if a governor of the great state of Texas can have a few “ooops moments” I guess I can too.

    1. Well I should have known better than to start this when I have such a busy week starting. Anyway… So far I’ve noticed all these Paul supporters are supreme die hard supporters. I’ve also noticed that anyone NOT towing that line is a neo-con or something… We want the status quo, or we are not American enough.

Let me just say this. America is and must be a leader in the world IF not who? Can we just keep to ourselves and allow things to just happens and then react? or should we do what ever we can to stop things we see as bad for us and our friends?… I submit Paul’s version of America is one which people walk by dying people because we don’t want to be involved. That’s not our nature at least it wasn’t.

I know MANY Marines, AF, Army and Navy folks who gladly travel the ends of the earth to help those who are being slaughtered because of their skin/nationality or religion or politics. When there’s something going on YOU can stop because of your position in this world, Paul says no. Its similar to Scrooge in that regard and it’s something we should guard against.
While I agree we should tone down our “Policing of the world” to fully withdrawal from it is foolish.

As far as his leadership, I don’t care how you spin it. 30+ years in congress and never moved up shows his lack of leadership for all to see. Bachmann for example will never be POTUS either. There’s no leadership in the house unless you lead the house. Why has Paul’s name not come up as potential leader of the house? 30+ years, how many Repub majorities? Hell even a MINORITY lead would show something. Nada. And blaming the others for that lack of leadership is foolish too. A leader leads. A leader builds consensus among his brethren. Fail for Paul.

Look, I understand the folks that want to move our nation in fiscal responsible manner. We all should want that and if Paul would realize the WORLD is place to be involved not isolated in perhaps he’d gain some support. What Paul is now is a cranky ol koot with a strict view of black and white answers to gray problems.

Keep your support for Paul if you must but when he loses the Primaries I hope you’ll find a way to support or at least pull the lever for the R in the race. Maybe Paul’s views rubbed off a little bit on the winner and he can take solace in that.

      1. I submit that America leading by example and consistent universally admired principles is far more powerful than America leading by shoving people around. I submit that projecting a strong moral character is more convincing than projecting a strong military one. I submit that violating national sovereignty and killing people does not give America the moral high ground.

I submit that the American people will do what they can for the unfortunate in other countries, but that ultimately the people are responsible for their own governments.

I submit that 30 years in Congress without “advancement” might be indicative of a man who refused to make the necessary compromises of character. More concretely, i submit that a career of principled opposition to vested interests doesn’t win friends amongst said vested interests.

I submit these ideas but i will not submit my vote for the status quo, which is what i’d be doing if i pulled the “R” lever just for the sake of pulling it.

        1. So Joe, you think a man who can’t argue the very same with his brethren in Congress should be POTUS and would do better with the entire nation? Um NO. And I don’t think I said one time that America should be responsible for all the worlds problems. I stated that withdrawing into ourselves is a recipe for disaster.

No Paulie can look back in history and say that appeasement works. You can’t say that letting things go unchecked works. Barack Insane Obama is RIGHT of Paul on several issues and that I can’t go along with.

A lot of good comments on the Paul support but none of them mention REALITY. We are not in 1890 anymore. We have lost and gained way too much since our founders. The Constitution is a great guide line. And it has been pissed on. That is getting fixed in the near future. Paul is NOT the one to do it. Paul is seen as weak, Paul is seen as NUTS, Paul can’t form a sentence without whining and that is NOT presidential. And I don’t give a damn one way or the other I’m not voting for someone like Paul who has the absolutionist views of the world. The world is not absolute. There is some areas one must realize can’t be so rigid.

Paul does himself no favors in foreign policy. He’d be a great econ. adviser. Other than let him go quietly into that good night.

          1. Sorry i had to come back for that.

The Constitution is not a “great guideline”. It is the structural description of our government just like your moral code is the structural description of your character. As such it is the primary reference for action and it can only be “interpreted” so much before all meaning is interpreted out of it.

I’m sorry that i haven’t read your entire blog for context but i don’t know how you can have such faith in the restoration of constitutional principles. Especially if you would have us elect a flaky intellectual statist like Gingrich to the executive office just because he has an “R”.

You say “REALITY” in big letters and demand it be considered and then you go on to tell us how Dr. Paul is perceived. You as much as say that reality *is* perception and vice-versa. For certain purposes and in certain contexts, i agree. That’s precisely why i submit that Paul didn’t advance to leadership (in your definition of it), because in the context of an insane asylum, sanity looks crazy.

In REALITY the term “interstate commerce” has been interpreted to mean “human activity” and therefore the federal government has indefinite jurisdiction… any remaining illusion of state, local, or personal sovereignty is gratuitous and subject to federal whimsy. That’s f*ing crazy, yes? By the redefining of context the government has made itself indispensable; no one can even comprehend how we might have e.g. safe food, environmental stewardship, or racial equality without nanny state intervention. Dissolve the Department of Education and give the right and responsibility for our children’s minds back to parents and communities, stop government-sponsored educational agendas? That’s f*ing crazy, yes?

The reason Dr. Paul’s message resonates is because people are damned confused. When confusion becomes overwhelming there’s nothing like a solid core of principles to fall back on. We have them, they’re written down, they mean what they say, and we can build on them rather than twisting them into the sort of pretzel logic which ultimately destroys them.

This is why i have confidence in Ron Paul as a leader. Because the people will have no illusions about his principles or intentions. If he’s voted into the presidency then by definition the people will expect him to lead with principle. Of course there will be some dissent when he actually does that and they discover that their personal cows are no more sacred than any other, but i think the adjustment will be short-lived because believing and trusting in Ron Paul means believing and trusting in the American people.

I’m obviously not gonna change your mind but please stop the deliberate mischaracterization of Ron Paul’s foreign policy. It is not isolationism, appeasement, “retreating into ourselves”. The term is “non-interventionism” in the tradition of Presidents Washington and Jefferson. It’s dealing with respect from a position of strength… internal fortitude informing diplomacy as a preference to external exercise of power. Nobody is advocating weakness, Dr. Paul is looking at the numbers and telling us we can’t afford to keep projecting strength or we will end up weakened and compromised.

Finally as a general remark i think that there’s no need for the dismissive name-calling around here, (Paulie, Paulite, Paultard), it only diminishes your own arguments.

          1. You know it’s hard to to argue with a cult. And a CULT is exactly what is following Ron Paul. Now I’ve laid out reasons why I don’t support the man. There is ZERO leadership abilities, ZERO credibility when it comes to foreign policy views. ZERO “IT” factor. Nothing in his speeches sets me on fire. Nothing gets me going YES RON PAUL. I guess he’s got it from about 15% of Americans. 100% of Iranians, Chinese and Mexicans… For some reason the worshiping of Paul comes every 4 years… You would think after 3 tries at the POTUS nomination, he’d have a bigger following.

Now Paul does have consistency going for him. But a person can be consistently WRONG and still maintain consistency… IF you are proven right a few times you’d think folks would start following wouldn’t you? WHY NOT?… There’s something else there and it can’t be dismissed by saying it’s everyone else’s fault they are too “Neo con” or “Don’t like liberty” or other such nonsense…. But it’s the Paul supporters who have drank the koolaid. Most of us wont worship at the alter of ANY politician. Tell me something you don’t agree with Paul on? …. The answer is usually “He’s right about everything” … NOT A FUCKING CHANCE.

You guys need to get a grip. One day Paul may be POTUS, but it wont be RON. Maybe Rand. Ron is 74 yrs old. He either gets it here or it’s over.

  8. You call out the Paultards and the dumb bastards ALWAY respond, like a moth to a flame… Good to see you haven’t lost your skill at stirring up the goofy bastards Rob, you’re doing almost as good as we did last Presidential election cycle… 😈

  9. I’d also like to know how the Patriot act in fact took any liberty from anyone of us… Please show me the person who was wrongly accused of something found out from the patriot act. We hear a lot about loss of liberty but have not seen it. Evidently Alex Jones, Ron Paul, 9-11 truthers and tin foil hat wearers are the only one that has seen the evidence. Where the fk is it??

    1. How can you not see the evidence? Have you read the Patriot Act? The lone-wolf section is a major violation of US citizen’s rights. If you are just suspected of being a lone-wolf they can wiretap you, without a court order. What possible law could make us safer without eroding some rights? If someone is actively involved with terrorism, there is a way to get evidence and obtain a warrant for a wiretap, without the need of getting one without court approval. I have read your blog for several months, and have enjoyed quite a few things you’ve posted. I don’t think Ron Paul has a snowballs chance in hell of winning POTUS in 2012.

The federal government will continue to spend, and do the same old stuff until they are forced to quit it.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_PATRIOT_Act

      1. Mayor, The “Patriot act” is a very questionable piece of legislation. IF you want to see the effects of its use, look at the the terrorist incidents that were prevented because of it. YOU and those against the entire thing would be bitching uncontrollably if some of those things did happen. I would also love for someone to answer the question of WHO has it impacted? Have you had your phone bugged and black helicopters landed in your lawn? Anyone you know or have heard of sitting in jail because they said something on a cell phone? Anyone been tried convicted and sent to the gulag? … Um no. And yes, I believe it CAN be abused but there are some things IN AMERICA that haven’t been FUBAR’d up. Our justice system still prevails even when it’s wrong there’s avenues of appeal and you will not be ran out on a rail because you just blogged or watched tv cleaning your guns… The tin foil hat is tight on you sir.

As for Fred’s personal attacks. He’s a lot less civil than I am sometimes but I assure a stronger American is going to hard to find. Fred as with a large majority of us are damn tired of the Paulinista worship and that too us is just as bad Obama worship. Not a lot of difference between the two.

        1. Rob, you don’t have to apologize for me man, I HATE Ron Paul and every one of his MORON supporters…

But, I need to be vewwy vewwy careful, Stoner might try to take legal action… A punk-ass kid that is mayor of a town of what was it?? 300 or so people??

Hey Stoner, it’s called opinion you ignorant fuck wad, I have one and I state it… Deal with it you pussy!

          1. Apologize for you Fred??? NEVER. You are you’re own man and I’m thinking 95% of the time we’re on the same page. I’m a little less hostile to Mayor (I wasn’t aware he was actually a mayor) but if all politics are local then Mayor being a Paul fan gives me a shudder…

          2. Robert, Can you name one attack the Patriot Act has prevented? And then name what part of the Patriot Act allowed it to be prevented without the existing laws already on the books before the Patriot Act?

TexasFred, I was just letting you know that not all Elected Officials are as easy going as i am. Some would send the police to see you for even vague threats. It’s your right to state your opinion, but it is also wise to state that it is your opinion. If this were my forum i would have blocked you for just posting off topic, let alone personal attacks.

I would have no problem trying to hold a civilized conversation with you. Why are you such a die hard Ron Paul hater?

  10. “I know it may be a futile effort but hey I’m in a mood today…”

    Ya know Rob,
When you piss in the wind, your shoes tend to get wet… Just sayin’

Arguing with Paulistinians is like arguing with Liberals is like giving pigs a bath. Pretty soon you realize they like being fithly.

    1. Gary, Yeah sometimes I should just go shoot something when that mood strikes… But damn I’m tired of hearing about how great Ron Paul is. They sound like the same Obama worshiping sacks. This guys is NOT the second coming. But Paul’s followers are like the hail bop comet folks…Paul is NOT a leader, he’s a complainer. He’s a whiner and that’s why he has such trouble gaining RESPECTABLE support in his party or others. I keep seeing Paul folks as wearing nike shoos sleeping in purple blankets looking up at the stars..

Fred, I submit that you are correct LMAO.

      1. Robert,

I cant stand Obama, he was a do nothing Jr Senator, and is a do nothing President. At least Ron Paul has voted, and took a stand on issues. Like him or Hate him, at least he’s done things.

  11. LMAO… I pissed off the Paultard, by using HIS OWN WORDS… Makes sense… They are hypocrites, and totally stupid, so, I submit, Ron Paul and the ‘Tards are STILL total losers…

Joe McPlumber, wash the Paul shit of your hands before you post, OK?? You’re smelling up the place…

  12. “…The federal government will continue to spend, and do the same old stuff until they are forced to quit it…”

Proof that even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.

    “…Paul is NOT a leader, he’s a complainer. He’s a whiner…

    He’s a biotch… suffering from PMS
