Activists Target Mormons for Gay-Marriage Ban’s Success in California

In the nearly four weeks since Election Day, gay activists and thousands of their supporters have rallied outside Mormon temples around the country, protesting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ support for California’s Proposition 8, the ballot initiative to make same-sex marriage illegal in the Golden State.

There have been calls to boycott the annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah; some activists have called for a boycott of the entire state of Utah. Protesters have defaced some church buildings, and in Arapaho County, Colo., the Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible hate crime — the torching of the Book of Mormon on a church’s doorstep.

Even the state of California itself has announced that it is investigating the church’s involvement in Proposition 8, which was approved by a vote of 52 percent to 48 percent and, barring a Supreme Court overturn, will ban gay marriage in the state.

But are the Mormons being singled out unfairly?

Other groups, notably African-Americans and other churches and religious denominations, voted in big numbers for Prop 8. But nobody has seen gay-marriage proponents knocking on the doors of black-oriented community centers or churches. No one has called for a boycott of black-owned businesses.

Turn away if you are offended by truth and logic…

IF Prop 8 is overturned The FAGGOT community will be entirely responsible for the violent outbreak and lives lost as a result, not just because of this issue, but because of the feeling voters will have of  “NO VOICE” in our government. When you remove the VOTING American from the process, AFTER FAIR elections and say to that voter “Your vote doesn’t matter”, you open the nation to VIOLENT OUTBREAK! In the future. You will limit the number of voters because of that feeling, and that will cause MORE damage than the FAGGOT Marriage issue.

We were nice, we COMPROMISED, WE VOTED to ALLOW Same sex partnerships as a capitulation, now look.. MORE, MORE.

The liberal elite will have you believe this is a RIGHTS issue, OK I have rights too mother fucker I have the right to vote. I voted TO BAN SAME SEX MARRIAGE!  and 52% of Californian’s agreed with me.

Faggots beware: We have voted and we expect our vote to be upheld. This fight is more than a Typical Gay Rights issue, it is a VOTE issue, it is a WE THE PEOPLE Issue. This will bring down the house if it is overturned, 52% of Californian’s voted to BAN Same Sex MARRIAGE, A very large MAJORITY of BLACKS voted to ban it, so you will tell BLACK voters that THEY DON’T count? Is that not RACIST? Does that apply to Obama too? I mean, if WE can say to the Black voter- the same 75% that voted to BAN SAME SEX MARRIAGE, also voted for Obama, so those votes should be removed as well.

I am already starting that argument in the streets of EVERYWHERE I can, I am talking to people, I am telling folks of ALL COLORS that IF they voted for Prop 8 -YOU are being silenced by the FAGGOTS, the issue is starting to be VERY personal…And “Like it or not” I am talking to a LOT of Black folks that had NO IDEA this was occurring..I usually start the discussion like “So how about Obama?” And then say, well your vote might be thrown out because it’s going to court, because some folks don’t agree with it.. Then I let them know about Prop 8… they are remarkably angry about that possibility. See one unifying factor between whites and blacks is religion. We mostly agree on a GOD, we agree on Biblical teachings…. Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve… Blacks and whites might carry pitchforks and torches together and make your FAGGOT protests look like a middle school rally.

The Gay Community is trying to silence African American VOTERS, the tolerant “Civil Rights” crowd? WOW the hypocrisy is mind blowing.

NOTE TO FAGGOTS: You are angry you lost a vote, WE did too.. We got Obama, The BLACK Community made that possible, WE did not nor will we “Protest in the streets” we will follow the law, we will challenge Obama’s right to be president (birth cert.), but NOT to discount the voters because we don’t agree with them.You FAGGOTS are trying to REMOVE the voters voice because YOU don’t AGREE with the results. That can not happen in the U.S of A, and then continue to call us a democracy. You can not impose your will in the courts and expect the “Peasants” to stay quiet. Dems delay auto bailout vote, seek plan from Big 3

I wonder why there is a lack of confidence in America? /Sarcasm

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic leaders in Congress sidetracked legislation to bail out the auto industry Thursday and demanded the Big Three develop a plan assuring the money would make them economically viable. “Until they show us the plan, we cannot show them the money,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said at a hastily called news conference in the Capitol.

She and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Congress would return to work in early December to vote on legislation if General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC produce an acceptable plan.

The decision averted a likely defeat of legislation providing $25 billion loans for the industry. Reid and Pelosi said there was no plan in circulation that could pass both houses of Congress and win President George W. Bush’s approval.

While the decision headed off the defeat of one bill, it did not necessarily translate into passage of a different one. As a result, the fate of hundreds of thousands of auto workers and even of an iconic American industry hang in the balance.

The chief executives of the Big Three automakers appealed personally to lawmakers for the loans this week, and warned that their industry might collapse without them. In testimony, they said their problem was that credit was unavailable, and not that they were manufacturing products that consumers had turned their backs on. But whatever support they found sagged when it became known that each of them had flown into Washington aboard multimillion dollar corporate jets. Reid observed that was “difficult to explain” to taxpayers in his hometown of Searchlight, Nev.

The automakers are on a tight timeline. Reid and Pelosi said their plan must be turned over to key lawmakers by Dec. 2 They said hearings were possible the first week of December, and Congress may return to session the following week to consider legislation.

Pelosi stressed that whatever the Big Three provided to Congress, it must show they had a plan for “viability and accountability,” meaning that the were transforming their industry in a way that it would become competitive, and that they were clear about how the federal loan money was used.

Even if lawmakers return to vote, they are likely to insist on numerous conditions on any loans. One possibility is to seek a partial ownership of the companies. Another is to limit salaries of top executives. A third is to prohibit use of the funds for any lobbying.

Until Democratic leaders reached their agreement, the bailout had appeared headed for defeat in Congress, with the fate of hundreds of thousands of workers and Detroit’s once-venerable car companies in the balance.

Reid canceled plans for a vote on a bill to carve $25 billion in new loans out of the $700 billion Wall Street rescue fund. The Bush administration and congressional Republicans oppose that plan. They prefer tapping a different source of funds that is earmarked to help the industry produce vehicles that burn less gasoline. But using those funds drew opposition from Pelosi, as well as environmentalists.

Here’s a part of the article that stood out to me

“The stakes are high. The Detroit automakers employ nearly a quarter-million workers, and more than 730,000 other workers produce materials and parts that go into cars. About 1 million more people work in dealerships nationwide. If just one of the automakers declared bankruptcy, some estimates put U.S. job losses next year as high as 2.5 million.”

Now that is a damn shame right there, BUT lets look at alternatives, UNION givebacks, the average UNION auto worker is paid $78.00 an hour, NON-Union or out of country labor for foreign car makers is far less than that. Hell I get paid FAR less than that, so do most of my friends and associates. The Government is now PRO-UNION and they are going to take MY money to save the jobs that pay WAY better than my job pays? Something just don’t sound right.

Let them fail, let the unions and auto makers renegotiate new contracts that will allow the car makers to be competitive in their field. Right now we are seeing the result of GREED on both sides of the spectrum. The unions demanding more from the employers, the employers demanding more from the consumer, the consumer demanding more from the government, and the Government blaming everyone else for the crisis.

ANY republican lawmaker that signs on to a bailout should be ran out on a rail. We expect it from Demorats. BUT they want the government involved in everything. Republicans claim they don’t. Time to step up and demand an end to the bailouts.. LET THE MARKETS RUN IT’S COURSE!

Every time a politician opens their mouth the DOW crashes…THE REASON IS CONFIDENCE! No one believes Obama, Pelosi or Reid have the ability pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel. on top of that we see BARNEY FRANK in charge of fixing it, the very person that was behind the CAUSE of the collapse in the first place.

The DOW is giving back everything, all the gains that had been made since Reagan are being removed. The business community wants to see if Obama’s tax the successful more, will pan out if the successful LEAVE!

Tell me something, why is it when the democrats took over in 2006 they were going to fix everything, yet since they have been in charge we have been in one crisis after another? How long will America let them continue to run us to ruin before we take our Government back?

Finger-pointing begins as Senate nixes auto vote

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Democratic Congress, unwilling or unable to approve a $25 billion bailout for Detroit’s Big Three, appears ready to punt the automakers’ fate to a lame-duck Republican president. Caught in the middle of a who-blinks-first standoff are legions of manufacturing firms and auto dealers—and millions of Americans’ jobs—after Senate Democrats canceled a showdown vote that had been expected Thursday. President George W. Bush has “no appetite” to act on his own.

U.S. auto companies employ nearly a quarter-million workers, and more than 730,000 other people have jobs producing the materials and parts that go into cars. About 1 million on top of that work in dealerships nationwide. If just one of the auto giants were to go belly up, some estimates put U.S. job losses next year as high as 2.5 million.

“If GM is telling us the truth, they go into bankruptcy and you see a cascade like you have never seen,” said Sen. George V. Voinovich, R-Ohio, who was working on one rescue plan Wednesday. “If people want to go home and not do anything, I think that they’re going to have that on their hands.”

The automakers—hobbled by lackluster sales and choked credit—are burning through money at an alarming and accelerating rate: about $18 billion in the last quarter alone. General Motors Corp. has said it could collapse within weeks, and there are indications that Chrysler LLC might not be far behind. Ford Motor Co. has said it could get through the end of 2008, but it’s unclear how much longer.

For now, however, with the federal emergency loan plan stalled in the Senate, lawmakers in both parties are engaged in a high-stakes game of chicken, positioning themselves to blame each other for the failure.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., scrapped plans Wednesday for a vote on a bill to carve $25 billion in new auto industry loans out of the $700 billion Wall Street rescue fund.

It’s really up to Bush’s team to act, he said.

“I don’t believe we need the This marker appears to be showing up in the wrong article, and has no meaning in this contextlegislation,” Reid said. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson can tap the financial industry bailout money to help auto companies, Reid said, but “he just doesn’t want to do it.”

Not our responsibility, countered the White House.

“If Congress leaves for a two-month vacation without having addressed this important issue … then the Congress will bear responsibility for anything that happens in the next couple of months during their long vacation,” said Dana Perino, the White House press secretary.

I find it amazing that Harry Reid, is willing to play politics with the lives of so many… The auto industry employs Millions of people directly and indirectly, I have a GMC and a FORD. so warrenty work will suffer in a “Nightmare” scenario…SO FUCKING WHAT?

Make a decision Harry, time to stop blaming everyone for their decisions and MAKE ONE YOURSELF!The real problem with the economic crisis we face now is traceable to the DEMOCRAT congress not making the tough decisions when it needed to. Instead they have blamed Bush for everything, and that was good enough to get them elected..NOW it’s time to act, one way or another Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank.. Obama is going to put some things on the table that will require real decisions from his side of the aisle… I CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT!

California High Court To Hear Prop. 8 Lawsuits

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) ― California’s highest court has agreed to hear legal challenges to a new ban on gay marriage, but is refusing to allow gay couples to resume marrying until it rules.

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday accepted three lawsuits seeking to overturn Proposition 8. The amendment passed this month with 52 percent of the vote. The court did not elaborate on its decision.

All three cases claim the ban abridges the civil rights of a vulnerable minority group. They argue that voters alone did not have the authority to enact such a significant constitutional change.

Spending for and against Proposition 8 reached $74 million, the most expensive social-issues campaign in U.S. history and the most expensive campaign this year outside the race for the White House. Activists on both sides of the issue saw the measure as critical to building momentum for their causes.

The other day I was on my way home from work and I saw a couple of “FAGGOTS” holding signs in front of Harvest that said “Hypocrites repent” I turned around and was on my way to confront the “opposing view point” when another like minded individual beat me to it, the next thing I saw was a broken sign flying across the road, and a few “faggots” running like little girls to a slumber party. Sometimes a little violence goes a long way in preventing MORE problems later.

We have been inundated with protests and destruction of property for voting to protect marriage. WE the people are about to face yet another challenge to our will. The “Faggot” community is extremely confident that they will win these law suits, and IF that happens I am prepared to MARCH on Sacramento with ANY organization or movement. This is a watershed moment. NOT for the “FAGGOTS”, but for the people of California and the Nation.

WE THE PEOPLE Voted in favor of traditional marriage, WE THE PEOPLE voted to define marriage as ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN. WE THE PEOPLE OF CALIFORNIA VOTED BY 52.7% to 47.3% to honor traditional marriage ONLY, and to NOT recognize same sex marriage. PERIOD…. AGAIN!

We the people did not vote to remove “Same Sex Partnership” rights.You “faggots” still have the same rights as being married, you are just denied the right to use the term “Marriage” to describe your “lifestyle choice” Cry me a river…

HEAR this message judges in the high court of California, if you see fit to over rule the voice of the people there could be REAL problems. These little fairy protests you see in the news are going to pail in comparison to the NEXT protest if YOU decide to legislate from the bench as is your usual method. There are MANY people of ALL colors and religions that will unify behind silencing their voice. You want to see real racial and religious harmony? Overturn the will of the people in the state during a recession/depression there are a LOT of good people are out of work, and have nothing but time….Almost looking forward to exercising my 1st amendment rights in mass on the streets of EVERY city in the state… Civil Disobedience in order to change laws seems to be working for those seeking to drive our moral compass off the map, I guess it will work to put it back too.
