Whale WARS…Eco-Terrorists glorified.

The animal planet is showing “Whale Wars” all weekend, so I thought I’d watch a little of it last night. What I’ve determined after watching about 3 episodes is the following:

1. The idiots on the sea shepherd are beyond a shadow of a doubt the criminals. They are harassing, assaulting and interfering with a LEGAL action. The international community has granted up to 900 “tags” for “minke” whales, so what they (the Japanese) are doing is perfectly legal. The eco-terrorists on the other hand are committing nothing less than piracy.

2. The Japanese whaling vessels are using remarkable restraint. In one episode, the sea Shepherd rammed the process ship. At that point the Japanese would be justified in repelling the attack by whatever means necessary. Yet they only used water canons, and threw some golf balls at the crew of the Shepherd.

3. The Sea Shepherd and it’s eco-terrorist policies are placing MANY lives at risk by doing what they are doing. Sometime last year a Japanese crew member was washed overboard, the sea shepherd actually interfered with the search and rescue operation.

4. Since the whaling operation is LEGAL, wouldn’t the money being spent on vessels and resources to chase the whaling vessels around be better spent trying to change the laws?

5. I’m a hunter/conservationist I believe in wild life management. I’m against anyone “Poaching” and as long as hunters hunt legally I’m all for it. These green peace, sea shepherd idiots are giving conservationists a bad name. They are whining about whales being killed, while eating cheeseburgers, steaks and chicken…The difference between them and true conservationists, is we don’t have to use a hit man for our food. We all eat out of the supermarket, someone killed the animal we eat, we all pay for the hit man. IF you are not willing to do it yourself, fine but don’t be a hypocrite.

I hope the crew of the sea shepherd gets thrown in the slammer for a long time for what they did last year.
