Goodbye Twinkies… NOOOoooo

Goodbye Twinkies… NOOOoooo

Well, the bakers union decided to play a pair of deuces against Hostess’s full house. Bad play boys.

Twinkies Maker Hostess Going Out of Business

Hostess, the makers of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, is going out of business after striking workers failed to heed a Thursday deadline to return to work, the company said.

“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” Hostess CEO Gregory F. Rayburn said in announcing that the firm had filed a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to shutter its business. “Hostess Brands will move promptly to lay off most of its 18,500-member workforce and focus on selling its assets to the highest bidders.”

Personally I don’t care one way or another. After the election I expect to get a layoff notice myself at some point. But I have a few more options. I’m not in a union. So when the company tells us we have to cut costs and whacks my benefits/pensions or whatever there’s little we can do. Take it or quit.

As far as this Hostess thing goes: That number of 18k is very low. Hostess’s work force is 18,000 but there are SEVERAL jobs tied to that company. Mechanical contracts, transportation, HMO’s, Janitors, the packaging product makers, etc etc. This is a very big company with a lot of people’s lively hood tied to it.

Now, let’s get this out there too: The democrat party’s platform has been to RULE YOUR FOOD. Michelle Obama has put junk food on the BAN list. So this company closing will cause her and her hubby to celebrate behind closed doors. Even though thousands of Americans have just lost their jobs. In the regime’s eyes, they just made over 18,000 Americans dependent on the government for their food and shelter. Also known as DEMOCRAT OUTREACH!

There’s another part to this story that won’t get much play, the teamsters had reached a deal. That’s telling. The teamsters are usually the first ones on the picket lines. The question is, did the teamsters reach a deal because Trumka and the AFLCIO didn’t want Obama to look bad by adding such a chunk to the unemployment percentage? Did the baker’s union see through that? Was the deal the Hostess company tried to make with the bakers too much for anyone to take? We may never know these answers. But given the way our Chicago Thug in charge has done things in the past, adding 18k to the unemployment percentage will reduce the percentage by 2%….Obama math.

Union Dues would cover 265,447 jobs….

Union Dues would cover 265,447 jobs….

A Great article at “Labor Union Report

One Year’s Worth Of Union Dues Could Support 265,447 U.S. Workers For A Year

Union bosses have been engaging in class warfare for so long now that it’s become standard for the media to echo the meme without challenge. An example of such mainstream Marxism is in today’s Bloomberg piece entitled ‘Runaway CEO Pay’ Could Support 102,000 U.S. Jobs, AFL-CIO Says. Bloomberg’s piece relies heavily on the AFL-CIO’s Executive Pay Watch, which was set up years ago to conduct a haves vs. have nots class warfare campaign to eventually have CEO pay limited by law or regulation. This was something union bosses accomplished to some degree with last year’s “Wall Street Reform.

Here is the AFL-CIO’s statement:

In 2010, Standard & Poor’s 500 Index company CEOs received, on average, $11.4 million in total compensation. Based on 299 companies’ most recent pay data for 2010, their combined total CEO pay of $3.4 billion could support 102,325 median workers’ jobs.

Using a simple calculator, it is easy to determine that the “workers’ jobs” would pay $33,227 per year (about $16 per hour), not counting union dues, of course.

Read the Rest then come back..

What the article says is truth. CEO’s do make a lot of money, taking ALL of it would leave WHO to run the corporation? Nobody works for free and Unions don’t hire, produce or develop anything. They are LABOR.

Here’s the basic math on union dues and jobs they would create:

If we were to use a conservative figure of $50 per month for union dues, in 2010, unions collected $735,000,000 per month in union dues from America’s unionized workers. Multiply $735,000,000 by 12 months and you get a whopping $8,820,000,000 that was collected in union dues in 2010.

Divide $8,820,000,000 by $33,227 and you’ll find that if unions did not take union dues from workers in 2010, 265,447 workers’ jobs could have been supported.

So union dues would cover DOUBLE the jobs CEO’s salary’s would… WOW, I’m all for that.

The article misses a little though. Consider this: $33,227 a year is the salary, it doesn’t take into account benefit deductions, union dues, FICA, and State Taxes. Your take home pay would be closer to 25k than 33k. A take home pay of 25k a year doesn’t afford the worker much more than a full time employee at burger king.

Now, let’s look at the CEO’s salary. Why? Well because liberals love to talk about what someone else makes… CEO’s make a LOT of money, but why are they paid so much? They are paid to make a company profitable, they are paid to RUN a company/Corporation and they have to have the ability to lead a group of people in attaining that goal. There are very few high school drop outs who are CEO’s Most of them are HIGHLY educated, very intelligent men or women. They made some good choices in their education and in their lives to put them in that position. IF a company or corporations shareholders pay it’s CEO a gazillion trajillion dollars, it’s because they can afford it, he/she is worth it, and they are good at their job. Regardless of HOW MANY JOBS their salary would produce.

Class warfare. Where do you stand?

Wisconsin Union thugs have a hit squad I guess…

Wisconsin Union thugs have a hit squad I guess…

Ever since I posted about Michael Moore showing up on the Wisconsin socialist bandwagon, I’ve been swamped with comments from the Union thugs themselves.. I find it somewhat flattering that they would voice their opinions here since changing my mind on this is pretty much not going to happen..

You can see some of the comments if you want HERE (I say some because some were not allowed because they were so “Civil”)

Basically it’s the same “We’re the middle class” B.S we’ve heard across the net during the protests. I fear these clowns will never understand the issue. So let me help you out here.

First off: You are NOT representing the middle class. You are representing your union bosses. Richard Trumpka is very pleased at your temper tantrum in Wisconsin, but MOST Americans see it as ridiculous, childish, and are very happy Scott Walker stuck to his guns.

Secondly: The real issue isn’t totally about your pay package or your “Collective Bargaining” The real underlying issue is your unions supporting a particular party and doing it with ALL taxpayer money. Unions especially PUBLIC SECTOR Unions support DEMOCRATS because democrats are “the Workers Party.” The facts don’t mesh with that assertion. The Democrats have a long history of over reaching when it comes to business. They over regulate, they over tax and they expect the businesses to foot the bill for their pet projects and KEEP STATE UNIONS UNTOUCHED.

What happens as I explained to one comment maker here at A&P is:

Businessmen are going to keep their bottom line if possible, that means when their costs go up, either jobs get cut, salaries get cut, and/or prices go up. Those are all ways to keep a business in the black. Democrats are okay with the government in the RED, but real life doesn’t work that way.

Allen West, Japan, Wisconsin and Moore….

I figured since there was so much going on today I’d grace the net with my wisdom on a few items all at once. Lets get started.

Allen West is IMO the second coming of Reagan. He has his bearings right, he’s extremely bright and he is UNAFRAID to go head to head with the opposition while remaining civil unless called to be otherwise. I would support this man for any position of leadership that he so chooses.

Rep. Allen West slams military diversity report

The Military Leadership Diversity Commission’s (MLDC) conclusion this week that there are too many white men in senior positions in the military “is a slap in the face” to those minorities who have achieved seniority, according to retired Lt. Colonel and Florida Republican Rep. Allen West.

Read that article if you don’t believe the man has integrity, honor and a sense of self that is unrivaled in today’s politicians. The only people that see color anymore are LEFTISTS/SOCIALISTS/COMMUNISTS and Progressives. All of which are ANTI-AMERICAN.

Japan Rocked by Quake and Tsunami:

This is a very bad situation for Japan, and it’s a very good learning possibility for those of us in the danger zone. Japan has been waiting for the “Big One” to hit and they have done about all they could to shore up their nation because of it. They have very strict building codes, and they have some of the worlds best architecture relating to earthquakes. This fact saved a lot of lives I’m sure.

Tsunami hits Japan after massive quake

A powerful tsunami has swept across a large area of northern Japan causing major damage, flooding towns and sweeping away buildings.

It was triggered by a 8.9-magnitude earthquakePolice say up to 300 bodies have been found in Sendai, the city that was worst-hit. Many more people are missingTsunami warnings were issued for virtually the entire Pacific region. The first waves have now reached the mainland of the United States along the Oregon coast. Earlier, tsunami waves about 1m high flooded several beaches on HawaiiRelatively minor waves also reached the Philippines, the Kuril Islands and Taiwan.

We have around 100k American Service men and women and their families. These folks need our prayers and support. They will be on the front lines of any recovery because that’s what GOOD FOLKS DO, and they are our best.

Wisconsin Governor KICKS BUTT!

Wis. governor officially cuts collective bargaining

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has officially taken away nearly all collective bargaining rights from the vast majority of the state’s public employees.Walker signed the bill to do so privately Friday morning. He planned an afternoon news conference in the Capitol. The Wisconsin law will take effect the day after it is published by the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State has 10 days from the signing, excluding signings, to publish it.

I linked to MSNBC because I want the ENEMY to see this. Scott Walker is the MAN! The progressive agenda took a smack in the mouth today and it was delivered by men in their own house. The UNION GOONS showed their true colors over the last week or two. The American people saw their actions, their tantrums and they saw WHO stood with the Unions in protest. Michael Moore, Je$$e Jackson and the SOCIALISTS/COMMUNIST movement all showed up in support of the UNIONS. I gotta ask WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

HT to the creator of the above photoshop Serr Serr8d

The Tea Party was accused of being racist because there were more white than black (Actually it was pretty evident that most of the engaged people at tea party events were white) But there were very few black folks in the union protests too… SO are they racist? Must be using the same standard, but I guess it’s typical liberal speak. “Do as I say not as I do”

Note to Wisconsin Unions: good job guys, thanks. You did more damage to your cause in 2 weeks than Obama has done in 2 years. He tried hard but it’s real hard to compete with what you guys did. You guys were so stupid even the MSM couldn’t bury your actions, they tried, they gave it their all but even they realized you were acting stupidly.

I can’t wait for your next stunt. Popcorn is always ready.

Wisconsin Gov. and Republicans did real GOOD!

Wisconsin Gov. and Republicans did real GOOD!

Hell YES! Okay Mr Walker and Wisconsin republicans I apologize for doubting you. You done good. Real Good. Now keep it up guys, you are on the right track!

Wisconsin Senate GOP Votes to Strip State Workers of Collective Bargaining Rights
Bypassing Democrats hiding out in Illinois, Wisconsin Senate Republicans voted Wednesday night to strip state workers of their collective bargaining rights. Republicans voted 18-1 to pass the stripped-down budget bill in a hastily arranged meeting. None of the Senate Democrats were present.

The State Assembly is expected to vote on the bill Thursday. All 14 Senate Democrats fled to Illinois nearly three weeks ago, preventing the chamber from having enough members present to consider Gov. Scott Walker’s so-called “budget repair bill” — a proposal introduced to plug a $137 million budget shortfall.. The Senate requires a quorum to take up any measures that spend money. But Republicans on Wednesday split from the legislation the proposal to curtail union rights, and a special conference committee of state lawmakers approved that bill a short time later.

Look at the reaction from the union goons, the democrat party and their support staff. Tell me something will ya? When “OBAMACARE” was rammed down our throats by a “MAJORITY” elected Democrat Congress did Republicans leave? What was it we heard… Oh yeah, “Elections have consequences” And we dealt with it. We removed damn near every RINO we possibly could in the following election. I don’t like the way this entire issue was handled just like I didn’t like the Obamacare procedure….BUT WE DEALT WITH IT! Without trashing property, without violence, without media help…..

The High Ground is firmly underfoot for those on the RIGHT. Be proud of Walker and his bunch and scorn the left for their actions.

Wisconsin outrage…Marxist Unions as usual.

Wisconsin outrage…Marxist Unions as usual.

Well I’ve been trying to keep up with all the Communist, Marxist dang it… Union protests, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the unions and their supporters, are nothing more than children having a temper tantrum.

I can surely relate to their plight. Over the last 2 years my health care contributions went from 17% to 30% and my pay has not increased at all… However; I understand that times are tough, my industry is struggling and if I have to pay a little to keep my job perhaps when things get better, my pay will go up and make up for the shortfall.. Not likely, but unemployment sure seems a lot worse.

I could be out protesting because my company is making profits. They are not investing too much because they don’t know what the future holds. I do understand that, I am not buying anything other than that which is needed.

One must ask themselves WHY are we in this mess?  Could it be the policies of the current administration in DC is to blame? I say YES. Reagan came into a worse economic environment and it took 16 months to recover. Obama has gone the other way and because of it, unemployment rates have stayed VERY HIGH. What happens when unemployment is high? That’s right children, government revenue drops and it’s out going cash increase..

Perhaps the idiots, dang it, Union protesters should look at themselves for the reason they are being asked to contribute. IF Unemployment rates were lower because our economy was thriving as it would if CAPITALISM was allowed to flourish, cuts wouldn’t be necessary.

Oh and one more thing:

If they call us “tea bagggers” does that mean they are the “Tea Baggey” ??? I hope they choke..

Unions Run Ad for Labor day.

Unions Run Ad for Labor day.

I kind of like this ad, but it’s pretty misleading.

It’s a great ad about working men and women, but behind the ad is the SEIU, George Soros, the AFLCIO and a few other LEFT-WING groups. They also miscount the MILLIONS of NON-Union Americans that worked to build this nation.

I am not a union employee, I was for a number of years. What I found out is pretty simple:

Unions are a great threat to UNSCRUPULOUS businesses. Unions are a needed entity to keep businesses from creating slave shops. BUT; They are also in many instances worse than the companies themselves. When they can take your union dues and use those funds to push for a candidate of THEIR choice, it’s wrong. When they can use the money YOU put into the union to make political statements that you may or may not agree with, that’s wrong.

Right now, Unions across the nation are doing pretty well, why? because the money from the Democrat party in charge (Who are taking that money from YOU) are making sure they are not suffering like the rest of us. Several unions across this nation ARE suffering, except SEIU and the teachers unions…We are all expected to make sacrifices during tough times, well unless you are a UNION that has a friend in the White House.

I also want to mention this:

In October, the AFLCIO, SEIU, ACLU, ANSWER, La RAZA, Media Matters, NAACP and several other liberal groups funded by George Soros will be holding a rally on the national mall. WHY?  To counter the Beck phenomena that occurred 8/28. I hope people will hold those two rallies up side by side and listen to the messages. I hope America is awakened by what they see and pick a side. I hope with all my heart that America gets a window seat to the disaster these folks have brought.

Violence and the Tea party…

Violence and the Tea party…

Break out your google skills y’all…

Someone please tell me how many people have been arrested in the last two years at Tea Party rallies?.. Someone, ANYONE, please point to an arrest report, a charge of vandalism, assault, mayhem, or anything…Hello?

Now I ask you to take a look at those groups that are against the tea party…See a difference?

Now I ask one more thing…What do you think the chances are that violence breaks out Saturday in DC? And on which side do you think the violence and thuggery will be evident?

Sarah Palin made a statement, an accurate statement. About the UNION THUGS. The same people that beat up a black tea party’er last year. And now the Union thugs are talking about Sarah Palin inciting violence? :rotfl:
