Predicting pols

There are only 15 days left until Election Day, which means that pundits and pols will be busy predicting who will win come November 7.

We caught up with Speaker Nancy Pelosi at Georgetown’s Café Milano Friday night and she didn’t pull any punches.

“100% Barack Obama is going to win!” she told Yeas & Nays. “He’s going to be our next president and a great president at that. We’re all excited to work him.”

But that’s not what Rudy Giuliani thinks. We found him palling around with Yogi Berra at the Washington Hilton Saturday night and he’s still got his money on John McCain.

“He’s going to do great,” the Hizzoner told us. “He’s looking strong for November 7.”

But conservative pollster Frank Luntz — begrudgingly — thinks Pelosi’s correct. On Friday’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on HBO, Luntz said, “I believe Barack Obama is going to be the next president of the United States. … John McCain cannot communicate. Stevie Wonder reads a teleprompter better than John McCain.”

I believe the most worthless congress EVER in the history of our nation lead by Nancy Pelosi is about to be even more worthless. (If you don’t think it’s possible you are living on Mars)

We are on the verge of a landslide change in the power of Congress both HOUSES! We are going to see a filibuster proof congress for the first time in recent memory.
Let me tell you a little story.
I had a person come to my door yesterday stumping for an assemblyman up for election. That was not the unusual part, the unusual part is I asked her, “Is the guy a Democrat or Republican”, she says, “he’s an Independent Democrat”… She say’s “he had to run as a Democrat or he wouldn’t get elected”….Mmm Think about that will you?

Politicians will run under whatever banner would get them elected? Is Politics that lucrative? After hearing the answer from the “Stumper” I decided to find out about the candidate, and YEP he is a LAWYER.
This brings me to my point.
Democrats are mostly lawyers, as I stated in a previous post, Republicans are Physicians and Businessmen, or Military..
Can anyone tell me what Lawyers do? Do they create? Do they save life? NO they don’t they PREY on the people for the most part, they sue YOU on behalf of another for a price, they are parasites. And for the life of my I can’t understand the willingness of our youth to elect LAWYERS as leaders over Doctors, and Businessmen..

I would like to see Joe the Plumber’s fill in some of the seats, I would like to see Mechanics, Salesmen, Policemen, Firemen and MORE like US be elected to office. I would like a congress that truly represents the people.

Democrats like our Nancy Pelosi, the most liberal nutbag ever placed in a position of power has led our nation into recession for purely political gain, Obama has tried to keep our troops in Iraq for purely political gain… There is NO country in these LAWYERS mind it is only POWER.
Get ready for this:

Abortion as birth control, You will be able to go out have sex get an abortion and be back at the bar before noon the next day.

Gay Marriage will be acceptable across the country, and soon churches will HAVE to marry same sex couples or face loss of tax exempt status.

Gun Bans, Hand guns, Rifles, and Ammo there will be limits on everything except the criminal element.

Taxes: More of them than at any time in our history

Recession/Depression More people will be out of jobs by 2010 than the 20’s and 30’s

These are predictions based on what the current congress has done in the last 2 years, oh and the fact that we will have NEW SCOTUS appointments that will be Nancy Pelosi type LAWYERS….

The bailout that was passed last week sure has done a lot for the markets huh?

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks plunged Thursday, sending the Dow Jones industrial average down 679 points — more than 7 percent — to its lowest level in five years. Stocks took a nosedive after a major credit-rating agency said it might cut its rating on General Motors and Ford, further rattling investors already fretting over the impact of tight credit on the economy.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index also fell more than 7 percent.

The declines came on the one-year anniversary of the closing highs of the Dow and the S&P. The Dow has lost 5,585 points, or 39.4 percent, since closing at 14,164.53 on Oct. 9, 2007. It’s the worst run for the Dow since the nearly two-year bear market that ended in December 1974 when the Dow lost 45 percent. The S&P 500, meanwhile, is off 655 points, or 41.9 percent, since recording its high of 1,565.15.

U.S. stock market paper losses totaled $872 billion Thursday and the value of shares over all has tumbled a stunning $8.33 trillion since last year’s high. That’s based on figures measured by the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 Composite Index, which tracks 5,000 U.S.-based companies’ stocks and represents almost all stocks traded in America.

Thursday’s sell-off came as Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services put General Motors Corp. and its finance affiliate GMAC LLC under review to see if its rating should be cut. The action means there is a 50 percent chance that S&P will lower GM’s and GMAC’s ratings in the next three months. GM has been struggling with weak car sales in North America.

S&P also put Ford Motor Co. on credit watch negative. The ratings agency said that GM and Ford have adequate liquidity now, but that could change in 2009.

GM, one of the 30 stocks that make up the Dow industrials, fell $2.15, or 31 percent, to $4.76, while Ford fell 58 cents, or 22 percent, to $2.08.

What I find amazing is that Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barney Frank stood up at the podium and heaped praise on Barack HUSSEIN Obama for his leadership in this DEBACLE. SO now that it has failed, will Pelosi, Reid and Frank accept the blame for it’s failure? Ok quit laughing.. I mean it QUIT laughing damn it!

WE are watching the culmination of only 2 years of Democrat controlled congress, coupled with a moron in the oval office. It only took two years. NOW we have an opportunity to elect the one who organized the DEMOCRAT side in this BAILOUT along with his cohorts.

Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid all standing at the podium blaming the failed Bush Policies for a terrorist attack on our soil, an unemployment rate of 10% and our military forces STILL in Iraq…This is what we are going to see under a Barack Hussein Obama Presidency.. BET ON IT!

Two years of Democrat controlled Congress got us into this mess, so I ask all moderate Democrats to at least take some responsibility for the crisis… How long do you expect to shift blame for this? We are headed into the abyss and the Democrats are all fine with it, as long as Barack Hussein Obama gets to be president. That is the definition of party over country and that is the sad state of our country!

George Bush is the WORST president since the peanut farmer, but his approval rating has been higher than congress, over the last couple of days I can see why.
George Bush called for a bailout, and that’s fine as far as I’m concerned.
Let me explain:

The President, a man that will be leaving office in less than six months had an advisor and the treasury secretary tell him our economy was in dire straights and I can understand that. I can understand the “Urgency” in Bush’s voice while he announced to the nation the need for this bailout. He still needs to lead, and he is doing as he has done, lead poorly. To be expected IMO.

Here is where I might stray from the common reasoning of my friends:

This was Congress’s time to say “George Bush we are not afraid, we will look at your proposal and we will debate it, we will not be pushed into anything because you say it’s “Dire” you have used that line of bullshit enough”.

Morons

BUT IT DIDN’T HAPPEN.
GWB says “We need to act quickly on this bailout” Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and the rest of the Democrat leaders jump to pass that plan over the weekend.
Ask yourself why?
My opinion is the GWB/Paulson plan is a typical DEMOCRAT plan in the way of Government sponsored welfare. Oh, and it’s better than that, it’s government welfare and it’s from a REPUBLICAN. Don’t be confused by all the rhetoric about the bill Bush and Paulson put fourth, it was just not “giving” enough to all those crack heads in Chicago and San Francisco. THAT was the only “adjustments” needed to the bill by the Democrat leaders, it had to give more to those that have done NOTHING, paid nothing, and do nothing.

Pelosi made a huge mistake, she didn’t wait to distance herself and her ilk from the bill until it was passed. Pelosi made her victory speech while there was still time on the clock. The Democrat leaderships plan was to push for the passage of the bill which gave money to their buddies that couldn’t afford the homes they are living in, that were gained from the DEMOCRAT Community Reinvestment Act, and blame it all on the Republicans…

KUDOS to the Republicans and Democrats that voted NO on this bullshit.

McCain pushed for this bill too… That is troubling, but he needed to be seen as a problem solver and MAYBE he had a hand in STOPPING it by showing up and saying he was for it. There still are a few conservatives left in congress, who knew.
This is the second time I have not been happy with McCain, but for the second time WE stopped the bill he backed. I could get used to this.

While we need to fix some issues GWB let happen, WE don’t need more taxes, We don’t need wealth distribution, We don’t need abortion on demand, We don’t need to turn our guns in to the magistrate, We don’t need to be told what we can say, or not say.
Those are the issues that matter in this election, and that is the reason I will vote McCain/Palin.

California Governor Slashes salaries to Minimum wage.

More than 10,000 part-time and seasonal workers lose their jobs and 200,000 could have their compensation slashed pending budget approval. Controller John Chiang vows not to implement the order.

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, expressing frustration with lawmakers’ failure to approve a state budget, ordered his administration Thursday to lay off thousands of part-time employees and moved to temporarily slash the pay of most full-time staff.

The governor, a Republican, apologized to state employees, many of whom, he acknowledged, are already struggling in a difficult economy. But he said he had no choice in the absence of a budget one month into the fiscal year.

“Our state faces a looming cash crisis,” Schwarzenegger said.

Nearly 200,000 employees could have their pay cut to the federal minimum wage of $6.55 an hour, with full salary reimbursed once a budget is signed. More than 10,000 lost their jobs Thursday. Exceptions were made for those deemed too critical to let go for purposes of law enforcement, public health and safety or other crucial services

Schwarzenegger also limited overtime and imposed a hiring freeze.

Again there are a couple of different ways to look at this action by the GOVERNATOR!

1. He had to do something, the legislature is full of the most liberal of law makers, and getting them to come up with a budget agreement has not gone well. Arnie has basically said, “Look we need the money now, you guys have been blaming each other, finger pointing and passing bullshit bills so you can please your “lefty” backers, Time to pay the piper”.

This action by Arnie was a “Call your bluff” move and odds are no one will lose a dime over time, as soon as the legislature gets off their ass all money is retroactive and they all will get paid.

2. This is a typical “Republican” tactic, he is wielding a heavy hand and trying to scare folks.

MY TAKE ON IT:

I believe that Arnie has a real problem, and the problem is HIS fault. COMPROMISING with the most liberal idiots in state government has got us into this position. The law makers of California are a raise taxes crew, they are a “Tax” business, tax employees, tax goods group of douchebags. THERE Is the real problem, the TAX money is drying up with 5.00 gas. The GOOD jobs are leaving the state at a record pace and they take TAX MONEY with them. Those folks bought houses, Cars, Big TV’s and they carried huge tax bills that went right into the nanny state’s coffers.

The real problem is Arnold, the Arnold that is more left than right and he has got caught up in the liberal thinking of tax first and worry later… It’s LATER and guess who pays? Yep the little guy at the DMV, or City Employees the same folks the “Demorat’s” say they are speaking up for.
