Homeland and Reality Meet

I’ve been watching the Showtime series called “Homeland” and I have to tell you it’s a great show. Now, it’s a showtime series so you know it’s got a lefty bend to it. But overall it’s worth watching.

Quick story line:

A Marine sniper two man team were captured in Iraq and held prisoner for 8 years. A CIA intelligence analyst gets some intel that a US soldier has been turned and is now working for the most wanted terrorist Abu Nazzir. Soon after she gets the info, one of the Marines is found alive in a raid on a terrorist training camp. She’s convinced he’s working for terrorists but she’s the only one…

Lots of twists and turns, victims, bullies, PCness running amok and some real head shakers in the plot line. Spy’s/FBI/S.S/Assets/sources/family issues all intertwined. Keeps you guessing.

I can see a lot of lefty’s saying YEAH THIS IS THE WAY IT IS!!!, And I can see a lot of righty’s saying YEAH, THIS IS THE WAY IT IS!!!… But I see more to it…

The entire series hinges on a drone strike on a madrassas (Those of you that have seen the show know what I’m talking about) that killed a bunch of kids. Now the bleeding hearts in our nation would say well, we deserve to get hit for that. I say there were a bunch of kids in a school ran by a head terrorist, being taught english and the head terrorist was hiding there… FREE FIRE ZONE. Sounds harsh huh? Think about this: The terrorist organization we are fighting are religious zelots. They are training kids to speak english for what? To get HERE. The terrorists often hide in areas among women and children because their lives mean nothing to them, if they are killed they win in the Media, if they succeed they are hero’s to their side.

IF we played by exactly the same rules terrorists played by this war would have been over within a year. But since we don’t we drag out the wars we kill and maim more people than we would if we just fought it to win. Unfortunately a set of balls, the will to fight is only on the battlefield and not in decision making positions.

We don’t hold the terrorists responsible for placing innocents in harms way we only hold US accountable for collateral damage.

IF you have the opportunity, see this series. It’s worth the time and its very entertaining.
