A California adventure…

A California adventure…

Well, we made it back in one piece. We had an awesome time traveling the coast of California. We started our adventure from the town of Seaside. We spent a couple days exploring the Monterey area, then traveled from there down PCH in a very slow pace. We stopped in several places before we arrived at Big Sur. Then to Carmel, then to Cambria, then we headed south toward Solvang… Just an awesome mini-vacation.

What I noticed this week was shocking, it was shocking because it shows the status of the United States.

While in Monterey, we saw affluent homes, manicured lawns, shops and business’s boarded up and more homeless people asking for help/money/food than sea gulls. Along the pier, cannery row and pretty much everywhere we went we were greeted by people holding signs… On the other hand, there were many tourists. Mostly it seemed, Germans. There were the usual Asian’s.. Chinese not Japanese, that seemed odd from my history of touring America.

All along PCH the way south was peppered with business’s out of business or big signs saying they were. Every exit/entrance to PCH had at least one homeless/traveler hitchhiking or asking for a hand out.

So to recap, the world is coming here to view our country, enjoy our hospitality and purchase our wears. The world is seeing our citizens as uncleaned, unshaven, hungry and lazy.

Sad state of affairs…

But the beauty of this state is worth the effort to see it. If you’ve never had a chance to see it, put it on your bucket list. Its unbelievably scenic.

California Good, Bad and Ugly.

California Good, Bad and Ugly.

First the Good news from the left coast.. 10 day waiting period ruled unconstitutional. GOOD. (The ruling is good considering it was made by a Clinton appointee, but we got a very long fight to get our rights back out here)

The Bad news: Gov Moonbeam made it official and rolled out the welcome matt for ILLEGALS.. Let that sink in. Business’s are fleeing, taxes are being raised, gun laws are being signed at record pace, prisons are having their doors flung open for lack of funding, traffic has become worse since ILLEGALS have been allowed Drivers licenses, schools are the worst in the nation…. And Hey, all of you Illegals are welcome to get some more free stuff here in CA… wow..

The Ugly: The drought here in CA is about to be a real problem for all of us. If this winter (Actually, its more like a spring for most of America) we don’t get rain/snow in the mountains of biblical proportions, this state is going to be seeing rationing in a really evident way. But that’s okay, pass a law that says don’t water your grass. Then what? See the BAD NEWS. No water for grass, no need for a gardner right? No building new “Water users” homes… Do you see where this heads?

With all this wonderful news out of CA, I support Jan Brewer’s response to Jerry Brown.. All of America’s ILLEGAL’s PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY WEST. Get here any way possible. Once here head North. Look in the area of San Fran and Sacramento for possible residence. But anywhere in CA is fine. Good luck.

We’re not going to break CA into 6 states, we’re going to just call it the Northern Most Mexican State.

California Puts Nail in Coffin

California Puts Nail in Coffin

California is run by Cal State Berkley radical liberals. They are creating a liberal utopia here. It’s been done several time throughout history and NOT ONCE did it end well. BUT here’s the catch: The other nations that fell into chaos, war, genocide didn’t have a mother nation. California has YOU, you being the rest of the nation as it’s fallback. YOU will be responsible for saving California when it fails, YOU will be responsible for the refugees who storm the borders of AZ and NV. Sorry folks, I did my best….

California lawmakers approve measure to allow driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants

In the waning hours of the 2013 legislative session, the Assembly on Thursday sent Gov. Jerry Brown a bill allowing undocumented immigrants to receive driver’s licenses.

The surprise 55-19 vote moved California a signature away from putting into law a measure that immigrant advocates have sought fruitlessly for years, with past attempts thwarted by legislative vote and gubernatorial veto.

That’s not all folks, California is also raising the minimum wage to 10 bucks, they are banning semi-automatic weapons and increasing taxes on business’s again.. All through a MAJORITY DEMOCRAT state assembly. With Moonbeam Brown at the helm… Whoo Hoo Bankruptcy and anarchy here we come.. Oh wait, there’s more.. We are also letting “Non-Violent” criminals out of prison because we can’t afford to house them. Non-violent being a very subjective term… A couple rapists have been and/or are scheduled to be released very soon. Doesn’t that make you happy? It does me…

I’m happy to vote yes for EVERY liberal pushed bill or proposition now. I want the demise to hasten. I want this state to collapse as soon as possible. I want it to look like Detroit within the next 2 to 3 years. Sometimes you must show and tell IDIOTS the truth. The liberal cockroaches who infest this state have accomplished greatness. Huge debt’s, Corruption, Crime rates, Moral collapse, Economic disaster to name a few… Now, we will add illegal immigrants who can’t speak or read english to the roads, give them ID’s so they may travel freely to do their hard work..

I see in increase in child/women sex trafficking, drugs, gangs, cartel growth here and all legal now… Whoo Hoo… Lets go anarchy! Get er done!

The Collapse of California

The Collapse of California

One of the best articles I’ve read about the State of California.

California- The Coming Collapse. Part 1:

in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s California was by any measure a paradise. Sure housing was expensive, but the weather was great, the scenery beautiful. Silicon Valley was the vibrant world center of technology churning our new technological miracles, creating new companies and new jobs. California Universities were the envy of the planet. If you wanted to learn cutting edge science and engineering, they were the place to be. California set the cultural standards for the nation. In 1965 the Beach Boys “wished they all could be California girls”. Twenty years later, David Lee Roth had the same wish.

The governor at the time was Jerry Brown. Brown was a fairly typical liberal California governor. He served two terms as governor and earned the nickname “Moonbeam”. To gain union support he allowed the public sector employees to unionize. This would prove expensive over time, as the public employee unions gained unprecedented political power which they used to gain ever increasing benefits from Democrat politicians.

Fast forward thirty years, and California is a different place. Unemployment is at 12.2% across the state with some areas considerably higher. Across Silicon Valley stands large empty office buildings. At least the commuting time is improving. The state university system is in decline (see what currently passes for scholarship here). And the state government stands on the brink of bankruptcy. Several times over the past year the state issued IOU’s for state payments. Read the rest here

And that spells out how we got here, the second part of this article discusses where we really are and actually does some comparisons with Texas:

California- The Coming Collapse. Part 2:

Californians didn’t just wake up one morning and find themselves in the current mess. It took many years of greedy unions, corrupt politicians, activist judges, and progressive advocacy groups to move the state to the edge of the precipice. This article will further explore the roots of California’s dilemna and where California is going.

California has had governors of both parties, but the state legislature has long been dominated by Democrats. Currently in the Assembly (the lower house) the Democrats control with a 64.1% share of the membership. In the Senate the Democrats currently have a 63.2% controlling majority. Similarly, the coastal cities have had many years of one party Democrat rule (with the exception of San Diego). Inland, Californians tend to be more conservative, but the inland population (which tends to be centered around agriculture) is dwarfed by the population of the coastal cities. Read the rest here

The part I found extremely interesting is the part about the rental trucks.:

So, what are the tax payers of California doing? They’re voting with their feet. Between 2000 and 2009, 1,509,000 people left California. The Carpe Diem blog has some interesting figures on U-haul rental prices between California and Texas. Typically truck rental firms charge more money for routes in high demand and much less for lower demand routes (often the return trip).

From Dallas to San Francisco: $734
From San Francisco to Dallas: $2,116

From Houston to Los Angeles: $706
From Los Angeles to Houston: $2,051

I don’t really want to live in Dallas, or Houston. But I love the state of Texas for their hospitality and down home attitude. I’d gladly live in Texas (The rural areas) But I’m not real sure the state could handle TexasFred and I in the same general location.

So do you think California can recover from the damage that’s been happening since the 80’s? I think it’s too far gone and it’s going to take a catastrophic event to start the recovery.

The prevailing view among Californians is the state is hosed. However; the failure of the lifelong liberals to see that they caused it and change course is what is keeping this state from being great again. They keep electing the same type idiots to office and expecting them to fix it without pain. There needs to be pain. Cuts need to be made, taxes need to be lowered, businesses need an environment conducive to profits and that increases employment. But that’s okay, I don’t plan on being here too much longer. The entire state can fall off into the pacific for all I care.

California starting to turn out the lights..

California starting to turn out the lights..

I found this looking around the internet. I can’t confirm this story is 100% true but I can tell you in my area it is certainly FACTUAL.

People begin living without electricity and water in California

I couldn’t find statistics for local utility shut offs in my area, but I knew we would start to see more and more of this.

Houses everywhere are going vacant. People don’t say goodbye, they don’t leave a number, they just disappear. With their disappearance we add another vacant house to the street. But families living in housing without utilities is a new sight for me to behold. I spoke recently with a rep from So Cal Edison who, full time contacts residence who have had their electricity turned off due to non payment. She has a negotiator sent in and they work on a reduced payment. It’s amazing to me, that now, it is becoming acceptable in California to camp out in your home.

People are losing their homes, losing their cars and losing their dignity. How are we going to afford kids clothes and school supplies for the coming year? How can we expect families to pay for all these additional costs when the economy is in the shape it in. I ask myself this everyday.

On my street alone there 50 houses from cross street to cross street. 10 of them sit empty, 4 have for sale signs with “Bank Owned” flags on them. My house value has dropped from a high of 420k to just a little more than I paid for it 15 yrs ago.

We have had two houses on the block broke into by homeless folks and used as a place to sleep. Our neighborhood got together to try and police our own yard so to speak, and it has helped as far as crime and squatters…

The underlying issue of the despair is JOBS. There is NO JOBS in this state to speak of. Unless you are in the service industry such as health care or an elected official. WHY IS THAT? Mmm, could it be the anti-business environment created by the “Tax the rich” liberals in Sacramento and DC?

Something the liberals/progressives in power don’t seem to understand is pretty basic to even this neanderthal redneck. No Businesses = No Jobs, No tax revenue, No money for your pet projects…Simple stuff really.

As California goes, so goes the nation…We’re Broke.

As California goes, so goes the nation…We’re Broke.

California may be out of cash in February

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – California is on track to run out of cash in February or March and faces a $15 billion cash shortage by the end of its fiscal year in June unless officials plug an $11.2 billion budget gap, according to the state’s budget director.

Additionally, if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and lawmakers fail to close the current fiscal year’s budget shortfall soon, California, the most populous U.S. state, may in March delay payments to its vendors or hand them notes promising payment, according to a December 1 letter to top lawmakers from the director of the Department of Finance, Michael Genest.

A copy of the letter was obtained on Friday by Reuters.

“Specifically, it now appears certain that available cash reserves from all sources will fall below the cash cushion target of $2.5 billion in February and that the state will begin delaying payments or paying in registered warrants in March,” Genest said in his letter.

“To reduce this threat, the administration is also proposing legislation to increase internal borrowable cash resources,” Genest added. “However, even with this cash solution the state will not be able to pay all of its bills in the absence of quick action on the budgetary solutions.”

Seriously this is a SIMPLE problem to solve. Stop all “Welfare aid” to those here illegally. That would be expected to save roughly 10 million dollars a day for the state. Not to mention removing the salaries of those that work in the “Give away” part of the state government, there would be no more need for them. So we are probably up to 15 to 20 million dollars a day in revenue.

Just trying to help there Arnie…

You know that old saying about

“Give a man a fish, he’ll eat once, and ask for another fish when he’s hungry again. Show him how to fish, he’ll be self sufficient and be there if you need a fish later?”

California has had a BAD habit of giving fish for nothing, and folks here have no idea how to fish anymore, why should they? The state will take care of everything… Time to pay up Arnie. Time to cut the strings. Tough times require tough actions, cutting the PD cash will cost you later, removing state funding for day care for working mothers will cost you… What will it cost you to remove the BLOODSUCKERS from the feeding trough? NADA.

Some of the reason we are in the shape we are in, (reminding ALL of you that California is the 8th largest economy in the WORLD) is because of a lack of leadership… Arnold the RINO, had the right idea, and he had a lot of support… Well until it came to actually cutting somethings, and removing some power from the liberal elites. Then the REAL Arnie came out and showed his Compromising side, it has been headed south ever since… Good luck to the states with fewer resources than WE here have. Can’t wait to see how the Demorats FUCK up the nation some MORE.

We were shakin…

Strong quake rattles buildings, nerves in S. Calif

LOS ANGELES – The strongest earthquake to strike a populated area of Southern California in more than a decade rattled windows and chandeliers, made buildings sway and sent people running into the streets on Tuesday. But there were no immediate reports of serious injuries or major damage.

The 5.4-magnitude quake — considered moderate — was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and as far east as Las Vegas, 230 miles away. Nearly 30 aftershocks quickly followed, the largest estimated at 3.8.

The quake was centered 29 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles near Chino Hills, a San Bernardino County city of 80,000 built mostly in the early 1990s with the latest in earthquake-resistant technology.

For those of you that didn’t hear; My area was doing a little rockin and rollin.

I really hate earthquakes, it’s not so much the shaking, it’s the short period of time when things are shaking that you are out of control, all you can do is wait. You get no warning, and you don’t know how far away it hit. We were worried that somewhere got really hit hard and we were far away from the center, not the case at all this time. Chino Hills is not that far from us, and we felt it pretty good.
Luckily we are all fine, thanks for all your emails and calls..
