Semper Fi on this Independence Day Weekend.

Semper Fi on this Independence Day Weekend.

Last night I was involved in something I had NO IDEA existed. The Semper Fi Fund. This is one of the most urgent needs in our nation. These warriors come back missing limbs, burned, disabled and shot up. Our government does a pretty good job of caring for their immediate needs. The Semper Fi fund takes care of their families/bills/financial and physical needs. This is the call to get your ass over there and drop a nickel or dime or thousand in OUR cause.

Like I said I attended a fundraiser last night. It was held at the Grove in Anaheim. The people in that room were TRUE AMERICANS. One man stood up. A very large man (Not fat, a Marine) with no legs (Prosthetic) and began telling the story of how the Semper Fi Fund helped him. That story is repeated thousands of times. He hadn’t even landed at Bathesda when the Semper Fi fund got with his wife, dealt with all the bills, special needs and assisted in all the places the government fails.

I gave everything I had last night, I would have sold my damn car before I left if I could. This cause is JUST, it’s OUR DUTY to support these men and women. You the cream of the crop can help. Fire up the hammer and let’s drive it home to folks.

Make a difference!

Here’s a few pics from Last nights event: (Not great pics due to the iphone and idiot behind it)

We also heard from a man who lost his son in Iraq. He gave the fund a check for 500.00 for the cause. He explained what the fund means to Marines. And there wasn’t a dry eye in the house after those two spoke. I can’t emphasize enough that this was a fundraiser that’s way different from others. This was a “Here’s what we do, here’s why we do it, here’s the people that benefit from it” you want to help, thank you. If not, grab a beer and enjoy the concert. PERIOD. No hard sell at all, just the facts, the need and the results. Marine style.

  1. Without our marines and service men and women throughout the years where would we be?
No doubt, the best in the world. Now in their time of need, we need to dig deep and help.

    God Bless Them All.

  2. This is a WONDERFUL thing being done, our Marines deserve it…

The sad part is, the fact that our troops face financial hardship at all after they have given their all, and in many cases, left part of their body on the field of battle…

These folks deserve a hell of a lot more than they are getting, but the U.S. government continues to piss on their backs while telling them it’s a warm spring rain…

    1. Yep Fred, that was a topic of conversation last night as well. It was roundly felt that America is the BEST for taking care of wounds received in battle. But PISS POOR at helping with the other stuff. Creditors don’t give a shit about WHY the bills aint paid. Generally, they come around but, but it’s only after the lights are turned off, the car is repo’d and the house is in foreclosure. Then they realize HEY THIS IS BS. And fix it. But it’s too late for your credit report, the hardship causes undo stress on the family unit. That’s why this fund is so vital. Yes the Government should be taking care of it, but hey, you know those crack addicts and illegal aliens need help too… (SARCASM)
