Oklahoma Uses Animal Drugs to Execute inmate…

I am a BIG supporter of the Death Penalty I wish we would use it WAY MORE OFTEN!

In California:

Judge blocks California execution; drug about to expire

SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge on Tuesday blocked what would have been California’s first execution in nearly five years, giving a death row inmate two days away from receiving a lethal injection a reprieve likely to last month’s.

U.S. District Court Judge Jeremy Fogel canceled the execution of Albert Greenwood Brown after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered him to use different legal standards to reconsider his previous decision clearing the way for the lethal injection.

We refused to use the Death Penalty because our supply of lethal injection drugs was “Expiring”… I ask you to think about that for a moment. We have thousands sitting on Death Row for extremely violent crimes. And we let our means to rid the world of these slugs EXPIRE… Not only that, but we are concerned that the “Expiration date” would make these slugs exit from this world uncomfortable….

In Oklahoma they found another way to do the job:

Oklahoma executes man using new drug combination

MCALESTER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma officials executed a convicted murderer Thursday using a drug combination that includes a sedative commonly used to euthanize animals, after a nationwide shortage of a key ingredient forced the state to tinker with the usual formula.

John David Duty was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m. at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. The 58-year-old, who was sentenced to die for strangling his cellmate nearly a decade ago, is believed to be the first person in the United States whose execution included the use of pentobarbital.

Strapped to a gurney and wearing an eye patch over his right eye, the heavyset Duty apologized to his victim’s family.

“I hope one day you’ll be able to forgive me, not for my sake, but for your own,” Duty said. “Thank you, Lord Jesus. I’m ready to go home.”

He also acknowledged three of his attorneys and his brother and sister-in-law, all of whom witnessed the execution from an adjacent room. “You’ve all been a blessing,” he told them.

The lethal drugs began to flow at 6:12 p.m., and Duty’s breathing became labored one minute later. At 6:15 p.m., he appeared to stop breathing and the color began to drain from his face.

Personally I don’t care how these slugs get out of here, I suggest double taps and it’s far cheaper…. Kudos to Oklahoma for taking care of business.

  1. I guess it’s a good thing I’m not in charge…

A .22 pistol, a .22 LRHP cartridge, place death row guy on his knees, place .22 pistol behind his left ear, pull the trigger, bad guys dies, execution over…

And done damned cheaply too! 😈

    1. Uh NO Fred it’s not a good thing… I think if you or I were in charge the prisons would be a lot less crowded and those that survived their time WOULD be model citizens if they were released… They would have to be because they would be in fetal position stuttering…”Don’t send me back… Don’t send me back.. I’ll be good I promise”…..

  2. It would be fair to treat them to the same type of death they put their victims through. Maybe even allow the victims family to participate if they were up for it. But there is a lot to be said for a good old fashioned .22 round to the back of the skull. It would save the taxpayers an assload of money every year…

    1. Bob, I’m all for that too…. Matter of fact if the family of the victim decides to not prosecute I wouldn’t like it but I’d accept it. IF the family was too emotional to handle it I’d volunteer in a heartbeat. And I’d sleep very soundly after…. Too many victims are still waiting for justice while too many slugs are getting free meals, healthcare TV and all the sex they want (Or don’t want) It’s time to flip the switch and make things right.
