Newt vs Romney.. I’ll take Newt.

Newt vs Romney.. I’ll take Newt.

It’s no secret that I’m slightly right of Atilla the Hun in my conservative beliefs. Read my “About the Author” page to learn more. I’ve been extremely adamant in my ire against any form of Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. And I have not softened my position one bit. That being said I’m also a realist.

I know that it doesn’t matter what one says on stage if they won’t follow through with what they say. To that end I give Newt kudos for the way he handled the Illegal Immigration question last night.

It seems the interwebs are all aflutter about how Newt is pushing for amnesty, a false accusation. Newt simply stated that it would be a disaster for the party of the family to be breaking up families. That’s a fact. Think back to the kid sent back to Cuba and remember that reaction. Then multiply it by a million or so. The protests of OWS would look like a boy scout meeting in San Francisco comparatively speaking…

Newt stated that we should be HUMANE in our handling of the illegals. He also added parameters that I agree with. SECURE THE BORDER FIRST, Deport EVERYONE who has broken our laws (Since the first criminal invasion) We’re down to probably 1/3 of all illegals. Then grant citizenship to those who serve in the military, have done things to benefit our nation. Now we’ve cut down the total illegal population by around a half… 12 million to 6 million or so… Easier number to deal with and we can effectively deal with that HUMANELY. Okay I’m good with it. I can understand that, although I don’t like it. I’ll “Compromise” to get SOMETHING done, rather than another 4 years of NOTHING!

Now Romney’s camp is calling Newt “Soft” on Illegal Immigration: Really Mitt?

Flip flop you much? Resist Mitt we much… (Al Sharpton speak)

So let me see, Newt on stage was HONEST about his view. Kudos. We know what we’re getting. Mitt, FLIPPED again to pander to folks like me… FAIL.

I’ll take Newt. GFY Mitt.

  1. I would have to agree. Although I am not particularly enthused about a Gingrich presidency, I will take him over Mitt Romney, hands down.

As for the way he answered the question on immigration, I think he is being a realist about it. Does anyone really believe we will be able to deport every one of the illegal immigrants in America? Without a full-scale military or police action on our own soil? Even though I do not like the fact that they broke the law to come into our country, I can’t see such an action having good results or consequences.

    1. Yep LD, Realism is a problem for some. Take Romney for example. What he said last year vs what he said this year is completely different. Pandering gets my anger up. Romney pandered last night knowing full well it’s an impossible task. He failed.

  2. I still say, if this bunch is the best the GOP has to offer, it’s time for a NEW party in America… And it damned sure isn’t one of Ron Paul…

Rob, you KNOW, I tried every way imaginable to start the idea of an American Conservatives Party, all we got was a pussy named Butch that was worried about offending people…

I am afraid this nation is doomed if Obama is NOT removed, and just as doomed if Romney, or, God forbid, Ron Paul get elected…

I make NO apologies to anyone, I detest Ron Paul and have NO respect for anyone that could support that moonbat…

        1. Ron Paul is not a Savior or a moonbat, as you like to call him. I have specific reasons for my support of the man, but those reasons will mean nothing to you. One thing I don’t understand is why I would lose your respect when we agree on much more than We disagree on. I am sorry you feel that way.
