Chinese Professor: Why do Civilizations collapse?
I saw this today on T.V.
And the truth is scary. We’ve been headed toward collapse for a long time. It’s not just Obama, Reid and Pelosi that’s doing it. It’s been the entire system since Reagan. We have allowed PCness to run our country. We can no longer say or do things that are necessary if they hurt someones feelings.
We can’t say “Get off your ass and get a job” we can’t say “Muslims are at war with us” we can’t say “Welfare is not permanent” we can’t say “Teachers are not all gods” We can’t say “Unemployment benefits shouldn’t last 2 years”
The things that made us great was the ability to overcome adversity. NOW, the left has so infiltrated our culture that adversity is the winner. Just blame whatever you can come up with and we’ll have a rehab or counseling session to deal with it. We’ll come up with some kind of “Illness” that can be blamed for the hardship you face. What this has done to our society is create a “feel good” at all cost mentality that has put us on the road to ruin.
I don’t know if things can be changed. I don’t know if the damage can be undone. I hope it can but history is a very good indicator that it can’t be fixed.
I had a comment from an idiot yesterday (And again today) From a clown in Cali that basically summed up the enemy within. His mention of the evil business men, the evil rich, the evil wall street crowd and of course the evil republicans, told me all I need to know about the way we are headed.
Idiots like “Cali” are what’s wrong with this nation. They want the government to be their daddy. They are jealous of what someone else has and wants the Government to take it from them. They want everyone to be as miserable as they are, instead of working hard to make themselves better. It’s easier to blame than it is to try. Cali is the typical union/Sorros bot that will be happy bowing to China, rather than standing as an American.
I’m seriously hoping a revolution takes place again in America. I’m hoping it’s a peaceful one fought at the poling places across the land. And if that doesn’t work.

You make some good points. I have been railing against the pc-ification of America for my whole adult life, and have not been able to put into words exactly what I feel the problem is without sounding like a loon. In my opinion, restricting speech is in actuality a restriction of thought, a la “newspeak” and 1984. If you are told long enough, saying something, or verbalizing a point of view is incorrect, or wrong, then eventually you will stop thinking it.
In some regards, this is good, for example racism. But we are a free country, and being able to state your opinions (even if they are wacky like Robert Byrd) should not be shunned except to the extent that people don’t want to listen to them. This marginalization of the opposition by making their viewpoints taboo is a way for the progressives to silence their opponents. Want to change welfare, you are a racist. Want to say Muslims make you nervous, you are an islamophobe and you get fired. Reform social security, you hate the elderly. No gays in the military, homophobe. Like capitalism, then you support the rich and hate everyone else. On that last point, I can not believe we are actually having serious challenges to freaking capitalism!
The beauty of blogs and the internet is we can say what ever the hell we want, and if people get offended, they can truly stop reading what we write. So if any of else feel restrained in our writing, let that restraint fall off our shoulders. We need honest and true statements about what is wrong with this country and the world, because as you said, we aren’t going to get it from our politicians.

PCNESS is the first shot in the war against freedom. Once the media elites have the power to ruin people based on speech, we are lost. It’s kind of like a woman crying rape. Even if the charge is false, the accused is ruined. A child crime allegation even if it’s false never gets removed from the accused. PCness is the same way IMO, you say something that you feel is correct, you can be admonished, fired and your career ruined. That’s not freedom that’s surfdom.
You mention Robert Byrd. I find that one very strange. Do you think if he was a republican he would get the same “Love” from the media? Think Trent Lott.
The double standard is so visible now it’s became a joke. And the fact that the American people don’t see the bullshit in mass is telling about the media’s influence.
I’ve said for a long time our biggest threat is media. The State Run media is driving opinion and they blame fox for doing it…Funny huh?
