Its been a very busy month or so for me so my postings have certainly been lacking. Sorry about that but preparing for the end of the world is hard work.

I’m not making any promises that I’ll be posting more often but I will be trying to.

The hosting service we are on (TexasFred BZ Brady and Cary) has been having some issues. It was a combination of growth, both ours and theirs. We’ve had to upgrade our service and do a few things to get us some room to grow and more flexibility. The migration is not totally complete yet but it should be final by this evening. I’ve got to say this though. Bluehost was fantastic on their end. While not exactly fast in the resolution of the issue, they were HONEST in their effort to save us money. They didn’t try to sell us something we didn’t need before doing everything possible on their end to keep us where we were.

We have a great team of folks writing opinions on everything that affects your life. Visit them often.

Why do I do it?

Why do I do it?

Many people ask, “WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO OPINE ABOUT OUR COUNTRY?”

My answer: I have opinions, I have facts that back up those opinions, I live in a reality based sphere. I don’t have a large following, but I have seen my opinions recited in some very LARGE readership areas. I do it because someone HAS TO.

My question is WHY DON’T YOU?

If you have an opinion on the state of our nation that differs from mine, go to blogger open up a blog and fire away. You are even welcome to dispute MY opinions here. But DO NOT EVER tell me I should just let the professionals do it. “The professionals” are the reason WE GOT OBAMA. How’s that workin out?

Blogging is free if you want to do it, there are 3 free services that allow you “Opine” on anything you want. Blogger, WordPress.com and Typepad. And I’m sure there are more out there. I and others have chose to PAY for our server so that we have ZERO restrictions on us. We have total control over what we post and how we post it. It’s not for the “computer illiterate” but even a html rookie can by successful.

My other answer for the question is much more simple. Without this medium the stupid shit going on in our nation may cause me to run amuk out in the streets and solve the problems myself… So if you’re smart, you will include American and Proud on your list of favorites, for the safety of others of course….

American and Proud HACKED!

American and Proud HACKED!

Well I must be doing something right, my site was hacked last night. Along with my friends who share a server with me. After some serious file snooping, back up checking and comparative analyzing we are back online.

I’ll give the douchebags a bit of credit, it was a good hit… But it takes more than some scumbag in mama’s basement to keep us good men down.

I was going through my potential suspect list and I came to the conclusion that it could have been any of these folks:

Liberpukes, Progressifucks, Union slugs, Muslim goat lovers, Illegal Invaders, Democrats, Obama lovers, Wimps, Gangbangers, Thieves, Morons, Moonbats, Assholes, Politicians, RINO’s, Anti Gun nuts, PETA and probably a few others….

Either way, they suck at hacking because a redneck bog dwelling beer drinking gun shooting hick figured it out and put us back online… WOW that’s gotta hurt.

Template change…

Template change…

Hey Yall, While I was working on a friends blog a new template was found that I really like, I changed a few things and I have some more things to change, but overall I like this. You will notice when you comment the sidebar is gone, (faster load time) you have the ability to collapse posts and comments too. ( The little minus signs in the right hand corner) I will be changing the background tomorrow,  the flags are cool but it’s a little too busy for me on the big screen.

I am still fine tuning it, trying to get it the same in IE and FF is a chore, and I will be working on it off and for a bit… I will try to leave it off of “Maintenance Mode” so all of my “RACIST” views can be obtained by the FBI and certain Local Gubmint officialsin the LBC.

Partial success.

Partial success.

After many hours of frustrating work, the good technical support of BlueHost host and some luck, WE were able to save my previous posts, and the comments. Unfortunately the Tags and Categories I used on prior posts were lost, BUT I know now how to save them for future moves.

American and Proud is back, and on 2.6.

So far 2.6 seems stable. Those of you looking to switch should make sure your server is compatible with the new version.

Some advantages of the new version:

* Word count! Never guess how many words are in your post anymore.
* Image captions, so you can add captions under your images.
* Bulk management of plugins.
* A completely revamped image control to allow for easier inserting, floating, and resizing. It’s now fully integrated with the WYSIWYG.
* Drag-and-drop reordering of Galleries.
* Plugin update notification bubble. Lets you know when a plugin needs to be upgraded.
* Customizable default avatars.
* You can now upload media when in full-screen mode.
* Remote publishing via XML-RPC and APP is now secure (off) by default, but you can turn it on easily through the options screen. (Don’t think I’m going to use this feature but who knows).
* Full SSL support in the core, and the ability to force SSL for security.
* You can now have many thousands of pages or categories with no interface issues.
* Ability to move your wp-config file and wp-content directories to a custom location, for “clean” SVN checkouts.
* Select a range of checkboxes with “shift-click.”
* You can toggle between the Flash uploader (when uploading images or any media objects) and the classic one.
* A number of proactive security enhancements, including cookies and database interactions.
* Stronger better faster versions of TinyMCE, jQuery, and jQuery UI (which were the primary sources of errors in the Beta 3 I’ve tested)
* Version 2.6 fixes approximately 194 bugs.

In addition to this, I like the “Insert Gallery” function of WordPress 2.6 I like to post pictures with posts so this is an added goody.
