California companies fleeing the Golden State

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Buffeted by high taxes, strict regulations and uncertain state budgets, a growing number of California companies are seeking friendlier business environments outside of the Golden State.

And governors around the country, smelling blood in the water, have stepped up their courtship of California companies. Officials in states like Florida, Texas, Arizona and Utah are telling California firms how business-friendly they are in comparison.

Companies are “disinvesting” in California at a rate five times greater than just two years ago, said Joseph Vranich, a business relocation expert based in Irvine. This includes leaving altogether, establishing divisions elsewhere or opting not to set up shop in California.

“There is a feeling that the state is not stable,” Vranich said. “Sacramento can’t get its act together…and that includes the governor, legislators and regulatory agencies that are running wild.”

The article doesn’t say that one of the biggest problems is the population. The remaining population is unqualified to work in a successful company. There are plenty of fast food, cashiers, sales folks, and yard workers. But there are very few industrial experienced people. Not to mention there are very few that are worth taking a chance on. The “Diversity” experiment has failed miserably. WHY?

The fact is we didn’t expect those that come here to become AMERICANS. We allowed them to continue and enforce their own country’s failures on us. California is an example of liberal leadership.

I stated in 2006 when Pelosi took over the speaker gavel that the nation will now experience California leadership… Was I right?

The last part in the article Gavin Newsome (Lt GOV, former SF mayor.. You may remember his “So goes the nation” statement on gay marriage) Says:

“Later this year, California will set up a new agency that will serve as a focal point for economic development and job creation, he said. Among its goals will be to reverse the perception that California is business-unfriendly.

“We’re going to start pounding away at this and begin to slowly turn this around,” he said”

Which is part of the problem. Obama set up agencies, commissions and panels to fix the economy. IF you don’t follow the advice, your pissing into the wind. I expect the agency Newsome sets up to be about as useful as tits on a bull.

Hang in there Texas, you’re our only hope. Demand that people when coming to Texas become TEXANS. Don’t allow them to bring their dumbassery to Texas and infest a good thing…

Well this isn’t really a political post. It’s a LEADERSHIP post.

I’m a big fan of “The Deadliest Catch” and I just watched the third episode of this seasons show. I have a few observations that I’d like to share with my friends. If you care to discuss it, by all means. If you are a liberal SOB and want to talk about “Feelings” just move on now. I’ll give you a second to click off.

My Job consists of leading a group of people to get a job done. I’m not an owner of the place I work. I get paid for my skills leading people as well as my ability to do the job I ask of my crew. My crew is ALWAYS at the top regarding all measures of which we are judged by my bosses. Now my job does not involve a risk of life anywhere near those on the bearing sea but our job can be dangerous, I have the scars to prove it.

I led this discussion off with MY story to get to what I see developing out there on the bering sea. I realize this show was filmed a little while ago and I really have no idea how it will end this season but the starting is very very bad. Bad for the boats, the skipper, the crew the entire film crews bad for all. I’m going to stick (for the most part) with one boat in this example of failure of leadership.

Cornelia Marie is the biggest disappointment so far. If you haven’t seen tonight’s episode and want to be surprised drop off now and come back when you have.

When Phil Harris passed away his kids made what I thought was a noble effort to carry on the legacy of the boat. They picked a guy to captain the vessel and made commitments. Well things got a bit difficult, crab was elusive and the crew turned on the captain. Now to be fair the show only uses snippets of what occurs on the boat so I’m doing a little assuming in my next statement. The Crew, Mostly the Harris boys did the captain a very major injustice. They got him out, committed to do a job and for whatever reason failed to honor their commitment. That is flat out wrong.

That being said, the captain appeared to be a very poor leader. He failed to understand his responsibility to LEAD. His job is to keep control of the boat, do it safely and productively. He failed because he allowed confidence in his leadership to disappear. He didn’t LEAD a crew through a tough spell. He FAILED to recognize what kind of leadership style was needed with that particular crew. You can’t step into Phil Harris’s chair and be MORE dictatorial than their dad. You can’t coddle them either. Picking “Blue Crab” as the goal might not have been a good call either. He ran himself away from any of the fleet that could have offered him some advice. ALL of that fleet was pulling for that boat to succeed.

The captain of the Cornelia Marie was the definition of a poor leader in my opinion. IF he smelled pot, had suspicions or whatever, the correct course of action out on the sea would be to WAIT till you had proof to ask questions. WAIT, be Patient and concentrate on doing your job. You start “Accusations” you put a crew on alert. From then on it’s down hill.

I stepped into a team 6 years ago that was very fragmented and they were more or less working as individuals for a job that requires an ungodly amount of team work to succeed. I filled the shoes of someone who failed at the job of leading them. He had a leadership style similar to the new captain of the CM. However; He did it without providing an example by his own work ethic. That leads to resentment when you aren’t willing to do what you ask of your team/crew. Now MY team is no longer MY team, We are OUR Team. We’ve become a family rather than a crew. And leaders have the ability to motivate without resentment developing.

Bill passed by California Assembly would provide college aid to some illegal immigrants

SACRAMENTO, Calif SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Illegal immigrants could receive college financial aid under legislation approved Thursday by the Assembly and apparently destined for the desk of a new Democratic governor who supports the concept.

California could add fuel to national debate over illegal immigrants’ rights by signing into law the “DREAM Act” measure, AB 131.

“This bill will ring across the country,” Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, a Democrat, told dozens of Latino supporters of the bill after Thursday’s 51-21 vote.

 

Moonbeam will sign this bill when it gets to his desk, he pretty much has to since he campaigned on it. The vast majority of LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVES in the legislature of this state are pushing this through on party lines. Well I say GOOD.

Why?

Because once this bill is passed, more money will be needed to pay for another “Progressive Program” that means taxes will have to be raised again on businesses to pay for it, which means MORE businesses will leave. I actually love this. Please pass some more giveaways, it seems fighting them from this position so far in the minority is not doing anything but giving me gray hair. So it’s time to join them. I want grants for gang bangers, I want grants for drug dealers, I want grants for prisoners on Death row, they need an education too. I want free health care, I want free gas for my car. I want it all… Let’s get it done Cali, YES WE CAN! We want more!

The reason I shall vote for everything the progressives want here in California is simple, they are too stupid to see the cliff they are approaching, so I want to push them off. That’s the kind of guy I am. Let’s give it a try.

Give Moonbeam everything he wants as long as it gives us everything free. If it costs us anything we need to tax the rich first!!!! Let’s go California, I’m right behind you as you approach that cliff.

Don’t bother lookin back though, I’ll be in AZ/Texas/Utah/Wyoming/Montana/Idaho and watching the train wreck on TV.

Oh wait, there’s another push off the cliff coming in about 200 days. California under Ahhnold passed “Cap and trade” here in California. So that’s another time bomb ticking as far as job creation goes. Hey Texas, look out for the flood of companies moving in. A word of advise, stop and search the trucks. IF there are NATIVE Californian’s in it, turn them around or you’ll end up infested with morons.

Well well, after almost 3 years of ruining our nation and over 20 trips to the New York area, “Duh Won” has decided NOW was a good time to visit the families of the fallen. He spoke to few and basically showed up so his worshipers could gaze at his greatness.

The only folks I saw bowing to his greatness were the usual suspects, you know, ABC, CBS,NBC and MSNBC carrying his water. It’s truly a shame people can’t see that the biggest con game being played on America is in full swing.

How about some of you “Obamabots” look back to the debates over the ground zero mosque, look at how your hero has treated the CIA, look at the investigations that are still being conducted by “Duh Won’s boy” Holder, the same guy that won’t look into the Black Panthers… Obama gave the order to carry out a plan that had been in the works for a long time. Obama said “YES” as ANYONE else in that position would have done. Even the most staunch liberal/progressive couldn’t say no. WHY? Because if the word got out they had him and let him go because of a lack of decision, that would destroy their career.

Obama was in the seat that’s all the credit he should be given. Period.

Okay, by now you’ve read all the stories and heard all the Osama jokes on facebook.  And there are some good ones out there, you guys are some creative SOB’s with the written word. Let’s get serious here for a minute.

Let’s do a little what if: What if Obama was killed April 2003 before the presidential election? Would the left be writing about how GWB is using Osama’s death to get a bounce in the polls? OF COURSE THEY WOULD. So to my liberal friends STFU, the right is playing your game better that’s all.

 

Here’s my official opinion on the GREAT NEWS that Osama Bin Rotten is dead:

Kudos to the United States men and women that have spent 10 years chasing this TURD. Kudos to the American military for continuing the fight against the followers of the same brand of Islam that spawned this TURD. Kudos to all the suits in DC that deciphered intel for countless hours. Kudos to George W Bush for going on the offense against the Islamic TURDS that followed the Head TURD Osama Bin Laden. Kudos to Barack Obama for STAYING the course and continuing the pursuit of this TURD. And the most heartfelt KUDOS I can muster is saved for the families of  the fallen men and women from 9-11-201 till now in the effort to defend our nation against these Islamic TURDS.

George Bush set the foundation for this day. His policies, his plans in Afghanistan and Iraq have killed countless Islamic TURDS and continue to do so every day under Obama’s policies. Obama could have made good on his promises to stop the wars. Obama could have made good on his promises to do the opposite of what George Bush had done. He didn’t and for that he deserves kudos.

I may have heaped a lot more praise on Obama for this joyous occasion but a couple of things are bothering me.

1. The speech he gave after the news broke. It was full of self congratulations, self indulgence, and everything but a high five to himself for Osama’s death.

2. In Obama’s speech he again referenced the “We’re not at war with Islam” meme. Now forgive me for being little slow, but: Our leaders have been saying that same thing for 10 years, do you really think that NOW they will believe it? All of the sudden the Islamic TURDS will drop their rifles and say “Oh dang, I thought they were at war with Islam, My bad”… I suggest that you not waste your breath with that one anymore.

3. “We are going to handle body in accordance with the Islamic faith” Now this bothers me greatly because we’ve been told that Islamic believers are NOT our enemy, and Osama was not a real Muslim because Islam is the religion of peace. IF so why are we extending this “Islamic Burial?” It’s a slap in the face to many if while placating the enemy. My suggestion is to wrap the body in pig fat, stuff it with bacon and have 100 Jews piss on it before it’s thrown in the ground underneath a pork slaughterhouse.

They say if you are martyred in the Islamic faith, you receive 72 virgins upon your entry to heaven. I hope they all look like Helen Thomas.

After a couple days of huffing and puffing. After reading the entire budget that was agreed to. And after checking many “Alternative reality” sites (aka Liberals) I came to a conclusion. It may not set well with some folks, it may make sense to others but it is my opinion.

We on the right didn’t do too bad in the agreement. We didn’t win in a blowout, but we didn’t lose at all. In other words it was like baseball game played over 12 innings we lost our starting pitcher and our power hitter to injuries but we won the game.

The POTUS made the Speaker blink. Yep. The POTUS used our military as tools to save Planned Parenthood. Yep. And it worked. In a day gone by NO POTUS would have ever gone there. Our current POTUS did. Obama is not a Democrat, he’s a progressive and that’s the big difference in this entire thing. A democrat can be reasoned with, a progressive on the other hand is ANTI-AMERICAN from the start so sacrificing the military wouldn’t phase him.

Did the Republicans win? Absolutely they won. They proved some points, they made Obama tip his hand about how far he’s willing to go to protect a failed agenda and they got MORE cuts than ever before. And they are putting fourth a bill that will protect the military from any such Obamanism in the future. They also left the door open for the next battle which starts in about two weeks.

While I would have rather them take it all the way, I do understand the game. Its one of quarters not entirety all at once. We got more work to do, we have a LOT more work to do, but for an opening salvo in a clash, We’ll take the 38.5 billion and hope they can get the other 60+Billion before the next fiscal year.

Charity: More than 1,000 killed in Ivorian town

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Unknown attackers wielding machetes and guns killed more than 1,000 civilians in the neighborhood of an Ivory Coast town controlled by forces fighting to install the internationally recognized president, the Catholic charity Caritas told The Associated Press Saturday.

The U.N. mission in Ivory Coast said it has a team investigating the alleged mass killings in western Duekoue. It said most of the nearly 1,000 peacekeepers based there were protecting about 15,000 refugees at a Catholic mission in the town at the time.

Spokesman Patrick Nicholson of the Roman Catholic charity Caritas said workers visited Duekoue on Wednesday and found hundreds of bodies of civilians killed by bullets from small-arms fire and hacked to death with machetes.

They estimated more than 1,000 civilians were killed, he said.

Now the Obama doctrine says Libya is in our vital interest, it was a humanitarian crisis being averted. Syria is being ripped apart by violence. So is Bahrain, Yemen, and about 10 other shit hole nations… Why Libya? C’mon Duh WON answer the question…
