Yep BOTH of these idiots running for President need to be replaced. I would honestly support a grassroots movement that aimed to remove both of them for a lack of confidence. It would take a lot of cash, it would take a lot of publicity and it would take more than a Blogger or two supporting a “None of the Above” blogroll. I am sick of the whole thing myself JJ, but we have little choice until the bullets start flying.

I offered up a post not long ago about cigs being outlawed in some part of Cali, some folks told me it was ok because they didn’t smoke, I talked about cell phone restrictions, some folks said that was ok because they didn’t use cell phones…. What we are getting for remaining silent on issues that don’t affect us individually is McCain and Obama. The reason these two are in the position they are in is because WE didn’t stand up long ago for things that didn’t affect us, or that didn’t matter to us…We got complacent We got ignorant and we are getting what we deserve… Piss poor leadership.

I am not saying it’s because of cigs or cell phones only it’s a culmination of rights being lost, the gun regs, the voting, campaign finance, amnesty in the 80’s and trusting the government would secure the border, it has been happening for a while and the rubber is meeting the road NOW because no matter what choice we make in Nov. We as a nation are NOT going to be better off than we were with Bush.

I don’t view Powell as being any better than McCain. After reading his book, it became clear that his military career was pretty thin when it came to actual command…mostly staff jobs. Then, he made it extremely clear that he supports the victimhood approach to social programs and handouts.

If he chooses to sit on the sidelines, I wouldn’t view that as him “approving” of both candidates, I would view that as him sharing the same opinion as most of us have: Both of these candidates suck.

@Ranando: Well I never trust too many polls. But I would imagine if I was in the military, and was on KP or latrine duty and a person asked me who I was going to vote for, it wouldn’t be the guy that is going to keep in that position.

I have little political respect for Powell any more, and I don’t believe he’ll contribute much to Obama should he decide to be officially associated with him. The bulk of black voters, for example, already classify Powell as a “sell-out” and a portion of the Left view Powell, particularly in light of his having trotted out a PowerPoint presentation at the beginning of the Gulf War, in support of entry into Iraq, as a puppet of Bush.

Colin Powell may have been a glorious leader in the military, but he leaves me quite tepid these days. I don’t believe he’ll be the X-Factor to Obama’s campaign. And under no circumstance will I decide to vote for Obama, no matter the stunt — and trust me, they’ll all be stunts at this point; smoke and mirrors, heralding trumpets, velvet gloves, psilocybin for the masses.

I would vote for Powell in a heartbeat…but endorsing the uber liberal Obamaessiah is a deal breaker. How the hell can he endorse someone that embraces everything he is against..that would make him an all out liar in my book.

I agree with you on Powell’s level of influence, however, if he were to endorse Obama, I would start to think about what horrible force pushed him to do it.

I have always said that I wanted a Military person to run this year, to me McCain is not that person.

Maybe it’s time to have a President that wants to win these wars we’re in, like JFK, FDR and Truman. I can’t remember any Republican Presidents winning any wars, maybe I’m wrong. I do however remember Democratic Presidents kicking ass and I mean kicking ass.

If Powell throws his support behind Obama, I have to say I may just do the same. I can’t beleive I’m writing this.

McCain is an old fart and a member of the old fart party, he’s a 100 year old GWB, old school.

What the hell, I’m ready for something new, it will be good blogging.
