Having done a little research, InBev in Belgium are basically Europe’s Anheuser-Busch – producing standard lager (Stella, which isn’t too bad apart from the chemical headache) but known as the company that strips assets and cuts things down to the bone.I could understand people in St Louis being upset. Anheuser-Busch have a great reputation as an employer and the Busch family seem to run a ‘good’ business even if I am snobby about their product!But at the end of the day – an American institution being sold to Belgium isn’t nearly as scary as what’s going on in my neck of the woods. D’ya know the Arabs are trying to buy the Chrysler building?All those dodgy loans Bush took out to cover the Iraq war has already seen half of this country mortgaged to abroad. Not good. Not good at all!
