A plea for Assistance

May 21st, 2008 . by Robert

My Fellow blog owners, I have been working my butt off and could really use some assistance.

I lost all my links to my favorite reads, and even those I only visited once or twice and liked. I am going to start working on MY site for a change and I would like to make sure I don’t leave anyone off the list. (The list will be displayed on the sidebar.)

What I need is for you to drop me a comment on this post that includes your blog Name and url.

There will be some new features on this blog starting soon:

1 My pictures within posts will open up full and dim the background for viewing if you choose to click on them.

2. I am hoping to have a pop up new window for comments too. ( like halo scan but much better)

3. Going to have a WordPress tip section, a section where I will offer up what little I know, and with help from others create a knowledge base that is structured a little better toward beginners than the WordPress codex site. As in a more specific, troubleshooting guide, as well as better dialog between the newer users.

These items will take some time but first I would like to thank you guys for including your links in advance, it will certainly help in my designing.

Thanks again.

UPDATE: I am getting several emails and comments with links and I appreciate that very much…. I kind of got side tracked with another project over the last two days. I will be working on my stuff in the next couple of days, and you will see all of your links on the side bar. One more thing, if you guys would like your logo displayed and linked back to your site I will be happy to place it. Send it to me or place it in the comment section.

I’m looking forward to the tips, and will contribute what I can (tip #1 - make friends with Robert really, really early in the process…) to help the knowledge base grow. You are right, the codex is written for those who are bona-fide code monkeys most of the time.

@cary: Thanks Cary, I think some better tips and more “how-to’s” in easier terms would be a plus.

Hey Robert…I agree with Cary’s first tip :-)
Anyway…not copying you..I have lost everything too, including email addresses and all my rss feeds….Dell trusted me to put the hard drive thingy in with a Phillips screwdriver. I am NOT having fun.
Hopefully, you still have access to whoever the hell my server is,in case I get brave enough to venture in there some day.
Anyone knowing how to set the feeds up again, please, please send me a note.
Good luck…I bet your place is gonna be super fine real soon !

Looking forward to the tips section — goodness knows I need all the help I can get!!!! Maybe you can find out how to get the blogrolls to work on my WordPress blog - I have the “free” one and ya get what ya pay for… Then again, it was pay for webhosting or another tank of diesel fuel for my REALLY big Chevy Silvarado…. :)

Seriously, computer problems are such a pain. And, they take up alot of precious time we could be blogging about important things like truckers arrested for peeing on the side of the road…..

You’ve got WFI and Family Watch Dog covered, so I’m smiling, thanks. Hang in there, you’ll have your site back up and rocking in no time.

On this Memorial Day remember my friends who died for your freedom.

Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer “am I worth dying for?”~
